ive only heard he left but who knows he couldve died and deryck didnt know about it or something

I think his father did die before he was born because I'm pretty sure Deryck has his dad's last name, and if his dad had left Michelle, she wouldn't have given his last name to her son.

I belive his dad is alive but is just "dead" so to speak in regards to having a relationship with him. I doubt his dad died...But who knows for certain other than Bizzy himself. ...

I’ve never met my father – he split before I was born. I grew up with a single teenage mother and writing a song about it had always scared the s*** out of me. Alright. No confusion whatsoever, Deryck's dad is not dead, or at least did not die before he was born. But, Deryck does has a step-dad, and when he refers to his mom and step-dad, he says "parents". Probably means he has a good relationship with his step-dad.

My cousin has her dad's last name, and her father left her mom before my cousin was born....
