so ive been depressed if you havent noticed,

my reasons that i were or was depressed was because

i ask her wat she was doing this week end (the 13th, 14th and 15th)
she said she was busy, but on the 13th and 14th her AIm and fb status were i need plans
so i think she lied to me, so does that mean i have no chance?
i dont like it that she lied to me i woulda liked it if i just got a no.
idk ive been nothing but nice to her, i surprised with gifts out of the blue. like 4 pack of monsters and tshirts and other stuff, and spent alot on her for her bday and xmas.
we did go to the movies once, but i think she only went becuase it was my birthday, i paid ;)
idk she treats me different in front of different people, and most of the time only yells at me
idk my lifes a joke.
should i move on?

And if she's telling you she's busy and then making that big of a show of her not being busy, she's trying to send you a message, not depress you.

She's not interested. We're girls. When people we're not interested in make advance on us, we pretty much do anything to make them go away. I made my friend pretend to be my boyfriend and be an asshole to this one guy for a quite extended amount of time just to get him out of my face.

I also don't think you guys were ever "great friends" if you're in your current predicament.

well, the way i see it, he said that they she treats him differently alone than in front of others. i saw that as a sign, she likes him, but doesn't know if her friends will accept her because of it. she is confused. i think taking her aside will clear up some confusion. sure it may be awkward, but it'll give you guys a chance to express your concerns.

but Phili is a girl. she does know more about girls that i do. or probably ever will.

We don't tend to act that way in front of other people if we like someone but are afraid that other people won't accept it. Acting like a jerk to someone you like in front of other people is definitely more of a guy thing.

She seems to like him as a friend, but is all too aware that he likes her and is handling it the wrong way. One not-so-good, but usually effective, habit of ours is to push guys away when we realize they like us that way and we don't return the sentiment. We think it spares their feelings in the long run but I'm not entirely sure if it does.

Girls find guys hard to understand, and guys definitely find girls hard to understand, but girls are definitely better as separating what the two genders do than guys are. While girls have an acute awareness of what is a very male course of action and what is a very female course of action, the line seems to be a bit more blurred for guys. They tend to think of what they would do and incorrectly apply it to a girl's actions. It's part of why, when two girls are arguing, a guy will anticipate a physical catfight, while a girl will assume that while the debate may escalate verbally, the likelihood of a physical fight is very slim.

I'm not nearly familiar enough with the situation or her habits to give a definite response, but I've seen (and been in) a couple of situations like this where I knew the girl's exact feelings.

And I would hope that you'll never know more about girls than I do...

She knows you're depressed because she was staring at you the other night while you were typing out your last "i'm depressed" topic on TNS, and she really hopes you get depressed to the point where GlassJAw and old underOATH can't fill your depressive needs so that you commit suicide. The truth is, she wants you so bad, but she knows that if she breaks your heart you probably will drown yourself.
