You might not realize it, but your the most hated member on this forum now. You weren't, but after you "change" you are.

I want to see what TNS members personally think about these ideas, so post away.

Mass Email
1. Use the mass e-mail feature to email every member and tell remind them about TNS. I think there are some people who've came on and forgot about the site.

I'd sure love to see some of the earlier members who since have left come back.

But yeah, send something like this:

Dear TNS users.

You are receiving this message because you have registered your email with an Account on Theresnosolution.com. If you never did so, then someone's using your email (but that doesn't give you an excuse to not visit the site!) I'm here to remind you that TNS is still an active forum, and there are many benefits of joining today. If you joined a while back and havn't posted or have since left the forum, i encourage you to come on and post. There are benefits for users who achieve more than 100 posts. We hope you consider coming back to TNS again and have a great day.
TNS GAMES??
2. and what about creating something to have users spend more time on the site.. like maybe a TNS game gallery.. with leaderboards, awards for top scores, ect. (this would probably take to much time, but i could contact people who run game websites and either get help or ideas...)

3.
Mods To install to make TNS a better Place

Prime Self Topics- Adds a "View your topics" link next to the "View your posts" link. http://www.phpbb.com/mods/db/index.php? ... ib_id=4355

Cash Mod (my personal favorite.. TNS would be awesome with this)
A highly customizable Rewards System
http://www.phpbb.com/mods/db/index.php? ... ib_id=1703

Welcome PM on First Login- Allows administrators to create a message that will be sent to newly registered users upon their first login. (would be great to send a message informing users of the rules of the forum.
http://www.phpbb.com/mods/db/index.php? ... ib_id=2889

Easy BotStopper (The bots seem to be back, if this isn't already installed, i think it's a must have.)
This is a simple program to stop spam bot registrations.
http://www.phpbb.com/mods/db/index.php? ... ib_id=1573

http://www.phpbb.com/mods/db/index.php? ... ib_id=7925

Mass PM Topic Participants (this would be a GREAT tool for mods/admins for a conversation that gets out of hand)
This MOD adds a new option to a topics "quick-mod tools" called "Mass PM Participants".This new option will take the user straight to composing a new PM.
The new PMs "to" field will be pre-filled with every user who has participated in the topic.Any user who is able to add multiple recipients via the PM composer can use this new option.
http://www.phpbb.com/mods/db/index.php? ... ib_id=6675

Milestone Congratulations (a fun little mod)
Enables the setup of milestones for members to reach. These may consist of (numbers freely adjustable): Making the 1000th post, creating the 1000th topic or registering as the 50th user. The user accomplishing a goal will be displayed on the index page until the next milestone is reached. Upon reaching a milestone the counter automatically increments by an (once again) adjustable amount. For every accomplished goal a database entry is created which can be used with medals, cash or points of any kind; also there's a new "history page" that displays all milestones. Included is also the option to integrate Milestone Congratulations with Simple Points System.

Shows upcoming birthdays on index page, number of days can be modified via ACP.
http://www.phpbb.com/mods/db/index.php? ... ib_id=5105

* not having logged in for a while
* not posted yet * registered, activated but not logged in since
* not having acted on above for a while (after first reminder)... The you better visit soon or ... email :Possibility to choose for manual or automatic reminding Possibility to delete users (manually only) Possibility to protect users from being reminded
http://www.phpbb.com/mods/db/index.php? ... ib_id=6205

usergroup ideas:

TNS Convicts/ Criminals- a group for any user who's been banned twice or amassed over 5 warnings (maybe this usergroup could have restricted access, like no posting in the whatever section or something like that, until the user has been "healed" (that sounds cheesy, but you get the idea, right) This could also be used for users in a "cooling off period" following a ban)

(here's an idea that Majid came up with one day and he told me on MSN.. might not be the exact thing, but this is all i remember)
TNS parliament- Have a group of tns's most "Trusted" users who have there own special section. each time something related to the forum comes up (like installing a new mod, banning a user, giving out warnings, ect..) a topic will be made in that section. The Parliament gets to vote on it and there word is final (well, the admins word would be final, but i think this would be a really cool little expriment)

TNS Idiots- Basically, the idiots of TNS. The users that have done stupid things, said stupid things, or whatever.

TNS "angels"- Users who have never been warned or banned, and are in high standing with the TNS community.

TNS Sponsors- A group EXCLUSIVELY for people who donate to the site (this is what the Underclassmen started out as, but it kind of got away from that)

ANd how can i forget:
TNS Veterans: any user who's been on the forum for at least a year and has at least 500 posts would be in this usergroup (kyle has pointed out that with the UCM, this is sort of pointless, and i agree with him. But it would still be cool)

Here are some more general ideas:
(Some of them Stolen/ Borrowed from PD)

1. the next time TNS has an "awards" thing, there should be a minimum 100 posts required to vote (i'm sure there was cheating on the last award)

2.here should be a thing in the top right counter that displays where it displays "Quotes" (it would increase every time a member of the forum quotes one of your posts.. that would be very handy here on TNS)

3. how about Some TNS merch? you have any idea how cool a TNS t-shirt would be. (you can set that up at zazzle.com)

4. TNS should expand. the main page should be more than just a Sum 41 page. there should be different sections for each genre...

5. Fix the downloads, please

6. the "About Us" (main page) should have a paragraph about the History of TNS, behind the name, ect.

7. http://promoteam.theresnosolution.com/ (Need i say more?)

8. How about expanding TNS (languagely (that's not a word :hehe: ) i mean.) there's a spanish site and an english site. How about we do more languages. i'm sure some of the multi-lingual members would be glad to help.

9. there should be a link to the TNS store: (http://theresnosolution.com/forum/store.php) on the main page.

10. the main page should feature a sum 41 quick links section (There's already one there, but it should feature more links, such as Sum 41 on wikipedia (a 'Good article'), sum 41 on Last.FM (listen to Sum 41 for free!, legally, almost all there songs), Search for Sum 41 on google (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Su ... h&aq=f&oq=), Ect.

11. New main page poll. (how about have like 10 different polls, and a random one pops up when you load the page)

12. Make Kyle an admin. (I'm not kidding here, he's done so much, and he's awesome. He DESERVES to be an admin more than all those admins that never log on anymore)

90 percent of theese i've PMed to an admin, with pretty much no response.

Once again, the main purpose of doing this is to see what the TNS users think about the ideas, and hope that the ideas won't be ignored.

Post any more ideas in this thread, if everyone thinks there a good idea, i'll edit this post and add them.
TNS Games would take a lot of effort and dedication towards a site that is about Sum 41.

PM's on first login... I myself never read the emails and welcome dealies I get from Admins on other forums I sign up at. So I don't know if anyone else would.

Bot Stopper - The bots aren't really out of hand at the time being. And we have section mods now, so they might as well be put to use when bots arrive. And if Jake fixed our ability to permanently delete posts.

Viewtopic Birthday - I don't know.

Milestones sounds pretty cool, but it might encourage more spam such as the 200 post/Media Section rule.

I don't know... there's a lot there. I can't really bring myself to talk about it all.

I don't have much time now, but for the first suggestion on DreamHost we couldn't email more than 100 users per day. Now on HostGator I hope we can beat that limit.

The one and only thing that should change is the way some people talk to each other. If Peter does not like Luke's idea, then just tell him 'I don't think this would work'. It is annoying to read something interesting with other ppl's opinion about it, when there are a lot of posts in between from people who are having a fight.

example:

Johnny: Have you heard my bands new song yet?
Ahole1: Why are you talking about that
TheJack: yeah I heard it, good job it rocks
tBAG: Ahole stfu
Ahole1: no man you stfu
Johnny: Thanks jack, we're working on more stuff right now
tBAG: You cant just tell people to stfu Ahole...

I did not mean to hurt Peter or LTS. And if there are any names of people here in my example, Im sorry about that!

I dont want any fights, just makin a point

I lol'd to that, really.
But Billy, every single thread in every single forum in the Internet has a sort of thing like this, it's what makes it funny and amusing. As long as it doesn't include Luke.
