Parent Probs

I'm getting my GF something for Christmas. She asked for this Escape the Fate CD and so of course when my dad hear's I'm going to get it for her, he looks up the band and finds out the band has "inapropriate lyrics", "bad messages", and "disturbing album artwork". I'm only 11 but COME ON! Now I have to get her a dumb gift card, "so her parents can make the decision." Seriously.

If you have older siblings, get them to buy it for you. If not... yeah, might as well stick to the gift card.

Why won't you be able to see her over your break?

He's 11. Logic he can't have girlfriends at home. Smart parents you have there, just wait 4 years. If you're lucky they let girlfriends in. So it was at my place..

You're the youngest I think.

Anyways, try saying the "But it's Christmas" excuse.

:) yeah. or get her the stupid card but make it up for her by giving her the album later, but before she gets it by herself of course. it doesnt matter WHEN you give it, but as long u went through the trouble xD

how'd your dad hear about it? weird. my parents are arab (probably one of the strictest races EVER when it comes to bringing up kids, trust me o_o), they know I love sum 41, but they haven't checked out their music, unless I was playing it and they happened to walk in my room. and most of the time, when my parents are at home, I play Chuck... or any other song from any other band which has no swearing =P

He told his dad he was going to buy the CD for her.

If the CD's got one of those "Parental Advisory" stickers on it, I don't know if you'd be able to buy it by yourself anyways. Though, I don't know since I didn't buy my first CD until I was 14.

Why'd he even TELL his dad? :/

nope, I bought Introduction to Destruction when I was 13.. [this year]. I look very young for my age, added to that, I'm so short. I look about 10 or 9 years old. I just went ahead and bought the DVD, even though look at all the graphics on it. I just payed and they gave me the reciept and the DVD in the bag. and I left the store. easy =P
