so, uh, theres this girl... ( )

first of all, its nothing like my last scenario. i have actually talked to this girl. i have been to a concert with her (where, incidentally, i had to pretend to be her boyfriend so that this drunken dude would back off. that was pretty cool.) she sits beside me in study hall (lets just call her Study Hall Girl) she's very cute and friendly. i think i'm starting to like her.

but there's a catch. she's got a boyfriend.

i've met him. he's actually pretty cool. but he's near 2 years older than me and would have no bother beating the shit out of me. but the thing is, she rarely mentions him, and tends to be a bit close with me (nothing sexual).

should i ask her about her situation with her boyfriend or something? im feeling a bit guilty and uncomfortable getting close to her, knowing that she is going with him. and at least i will know where i stand.

But i would keep it up. Look at it this way, if he ends up beating the shit out of you (I hope he doesn't but...) Study Hall Girl will be mad at him and feel bad for you. Causing her to breakup with him and get you your girl.
