a friend of mine introduced me to this band recently and i think their awesome.

im not really sure what genre they are but wikipedia lists them as Melodic Death Metal

their new album, A Sense Of Purpose is really good, im going to see them later this year.

well its basically like Metallica with harsher vocals. if you ever heard Children of Bodom, In Flames are similar to them.

In Flames is pretty good from what I can remember. I love the guitar work. Really melodic. But I haven't really listened to the band since a couple of years ago. Not a big fan of the vocals though.

if Hetfield's voice annoys you, you probably won't like Anders's voice.

it took me a while to adjust to the vocals, they grew on me over time though

I love In Flames. Come Clarity is one of my favorite albums, but all their albums are great.

It justs has to grow on you. I didn't like Metallica too first, but I listened to them more and more and now I like them a lot. :P
You just have to find the songs you like. I was listening to the more popular songs (Enter Sandman, Master of Puppets, Nothing Else Matters etc.) and I didn't really like it.
Then I listened to Creeping Death and Battery (try Damage, Inc. too) and I did like those.

Anders screams more then Hetfield indeed.
Come Clarity is their best album for sure, didn't really like the last one.

I love In Flames.. Best swedish band ever!
You probabaly have to adjust to the vocals a bit, but once you descover the pure genious in this band, you'll love them!

I love In Flames!
I seem to prefer the newer stuff, Come Clarity and A Sense Of Purpose. Just seems more musically diverse.
But Clayman too is amazing
