i have this college audition tomorrow where i have to play an instrument in front of this PHD music teacher so i can get a talent scholarship, thats not the problem, the problem is that .... i play BASS GUITAR, so how the fuck em i suppose to perform with a bass guitar in front of this guy??? just give me any advice but dont tell me a bass solo, i need any advice FAST!!!!!!!

tbh, distortion usually sounds crap on bass. if you use it, they might see it as a way of covering up your mistakes.
play some impressive bass riffs (rage against the machine or something...)

Distortion does sound awesome but i dont have it, um like thinking of RHCP now, also i jus thought about learning some scales

UPDATE: well i did it, after practising some calssicals (all day) that i found off activebass.com, i didnt use any of em, instead i played the guitar part of sum41-pieces on the bass!!!! with solo!!! n with vocals!!!! n it was pretty good but vocals sucked, n at the end, i passed. thanks for the ppl who tried to help me.
