it seems extremely stupid but i guess that if it'll help people beat depression and not commit suicide i'm up for it. btw, does this mean MCR can't tour in Russia anymore?

That is a very stupid idea, people need to get a grip
Emo kids were described as teenagers who wear black, have facial piercings and black hair with fringes that "cover half the face", reports The Guardian
About 8 Year ago that would be describing a goth

That's stupid. People should be allowed to dress however they want to and listen to whatever they want.

Yeah, take away all the piercings, black clothes and black hair, then the depression will just disappear...Right. Come on, i'm not an emo and i'm depressed and pissed a pretty fair amount of time. Please, style doesn't kill people. If anything, this law will cause more depression for being forced to be someone else.

Someone should sue them for "scapegoating MCR as emo".

they should be more concerned with banning wiggas and chavs.

itll never last. the emos will protest etc.

if they REALLY wanna be effective, everyone should dress as an emo. all the politicians and all.
then the real emos will dress differently in order not to be like everyone else..

you can divide the people who are "emo" into two groups:

people who dress like that because they have mental problems/depression/anxiety and DO need proffesional help. and the other group is poser who are just along with the trend and think it is cool to cut themselves. these people will realize once they become older that it was a stupid fad and did promote depression and suicide and will wish they had never done it.

the 2nd group is the majority.

Yeah, a lot of the "Emos" in my area dress like that because it's what's in style, not because they're depressed. And Janet's right, taking away the outfit won't take away the depression. Lots of people, emo or not get depressed.

If anything, this should stop posers who dress emo because it's the "in thing" and stop cutting themselves too because their friends do it.

You are stupid. Honestly. If you even ever read the lyrics of a death or black metal song you would learn that the songs aren't about killing yourself you retard.

Another desperate try to solve a problem by hiding the symptoms. Great idea: Let's just ban unhappiness and lock away all the unhappy losers. Then the world would be a good place again. I'm a genius.

dude, you're practically saying the same thing the Russians are doing only you're diverting it to metal (which i dont see why). what they're doing is an extremely stupid move but that's not why it's wrong. it's wrong because it's taking people's right of doing what they want. you can apply it to any label or group and it's still not right.
