This is the opening track to the first album I'm writing for a new band I'm working with. All comments appreciated!
This is a story,
a story, a story,
a story I'm falling.
The familiar sound of morning glory,
the distinct taste of fear in the air.
This is a city with a story to spare,
an entire affair of ultimate despair.
Fractions alone make up a whole;
drawing a bigger picture of scale -
it's problems alone but it will prevail,
prevail in almost every detail.
Correlation between fact and fiction
All these tales are a contradiction
Until we've discovered the final details
our society has continued to fail
The forgotten have become dead pixels,
Annoying and impossible to repair:
simply a result of their wear and tear,
nothing can save them, not even a prayer.
It's those that don't matter that matter,
just like we're nothing but a pale blue dot
and while it's not like we've lost the plot
it won't be long until we're all but forgotten.
