Wow, this is so funny and sad at the same time...

Btw, I really want to hear something about his website now or BIME acoustic version, where are they? :(

Mother of god...
Who would urge to even put on the work making a song like that?
It disgusts me.

I don't believe we've heard anything about it since Deryck went dark. We're just waiting for him.

Don't act like Deryck is some kind of god that no one can joke about.

well it was pretty funny and I did laugh here and there, but still I think a lot of this is really mean spirited ... I think it gets a little bit insulting and there's no need for that.

Read the guy's comments. He's a big Sum 41 fan and did this all in good humour.

Fair enough. But I think I'd be a bit sore if someone did the same to me, especially a fan. Then again being more or less in the public eye for quite some time now, Deryck is most likely already used to stuff like this.

You're right, he's certainly not.
Though that does still not change the fact how I reacted to this. I don't feel like it would matter if it was someone else. With that said I can admit that I'm not a fan of "parody" songs like these.

I agree.
The guy who made this probably just wants attention on the expense of recent bad publicity Deryck has had. Which as you said, probably is unnessecary.
But given the fact that it's just a joke, I won't judge it other than expressing that I don't like parody songs in general.

Let's have some good discussion, eh.

I don't think he wanted insult anyone at all. He's a Sum 41 fan, as I am too. I'm worried about him, but I'm also angry at what he makes with himself... Maybe who made this parody feels the same and he put his worries and angry in a creative way and he certainly put a lot of work in this video, I respect that.
I don't think Deryck should be offended by this: he sure knows about his problems and how media, internet society reflect, one more video doesn't change anything. BUT! We really don't know anything about him now: is he sick or is it side effects of some medication or just doesn't care of himself or something else... He doesn't communicate with media, with fans, so we only get informations by these pictures. It's okay, he's been always that way. But then he shouldn't be surprised if even fans speculate and make funny videos about him, because we're worried, angry and disappointed, because it seems he leaves himself... If he wanted to prevent these things, he should tell us something, just a short post that he's okay or something.

All in all, I think making a funny parody video (in Hungary there's a phrase: we only parody ones who we love the most; or something like that :D) is way better than write horrible, insulting articles about some bad pictures...

Didn't want to watch it at first because it just pisses me off how people have been making fun of D. Sure he's looked better but we don't know what's going on with him. Then I watched it out of sheer boredom and I have to admit that I laughed but the fact that it was made by a fan really surprised me. It's pretty mean.

Yeah, I laughed my ass off watching that video. It's kind of hard not too, it's just very well put together and it's witty and creative. All he did was poke fun at Deryck for gaining a bit of weight, it's not like he made fun of him getting beat up in Japan or having a herniated back or whatever. Elvis was the king of rock and roll and I'm sure he got made fun of when he got fat. Even Billie Joe once said he had a "fat Elvis" period. All I mean by this is that when it comes to comedy, nothing is sacred. Also, not everything is funny to everyone and that's understandable.

It was pretty creative and all, I'll give the guy that. I know it was made in all good fun, just I wouldn't be the one to upload something like that publicly, even if it was about a musician I didn't like. (I know the user's a fan, just saying.)

Not to wake up sleeping dogs but I came across this comment about the tour, make of it what you will.

Friends of mine were touring with Sum 41 earlier this year (both were supporting Billy Talent), he left the tour suddenly and without a heads up in the middle of a party in the middle of the night. An airport limo driver showed up looking for him, he walked out with his bags and never returned. Sum 41 was replaced, and they told the media he had back problems or something. According to everyone on the tour, he's just a typical too much success story and unfortunately has way to much means to support his drug and alcohol use.

I was at the Toronto show for Billy Talent, if you don't mind me asking, are you friends with Hollerado or Indian Handcrafts?

Hollerado

I also found a comment by Billy Talent which can be interpreted any way

http://aestheticmagazinetoronto.com/201 ... in-ottawa/

Frontman Benjamin Kowalewicz offered some choice words on the Sum 41 situation.

“Deryck just fucked off and headed home,” he said between songs. He spoke high praises for all the openers, particularly fill-ins Monster Truck.

Well, Deryck is well aware of some comments Ben has made towards him regarding Sum 41's drop off from the tour--seems to be he was a bit surprised by it, even so. Reading that I don't really know what to make of the situation, but we really don't know what happened. Deryck's back injury could have contributed to it, as well. Who knows!

I really can't wrap my head around Deryck leaving a tour for his own selfish reasons, since this guy lives for touring ... but I don't know, this whole thing is so messed up. I just hope he's coming back as healthy and as soon as possible from his "break" or whatever he's doing right now.

Behaving this way and walking out without talking it through with the other band members makes Stevo's sudden departure a lot less surprising.

I just cannot imagine that Deryck would back out like that, for no reason. Hm. Really dont know what to think now...

I don't think Stevo blames Deryck or anything. I'd at least like to think that they have a healthy relationship and that Deryck just needs some time to sort out his problems and that Stevo can take care of his kid.
