hes still the man!
People. Remember, Mark Hoppus is 7 years older than Cone, this meaning more experience genrelly meaning a better bassist. But Sum 41s music is much harder to play than Blinks. Being a guitarist myself I dont know a hell of allot about Bass, but Sum 41s guitar, inparticualr the solos and stuff are much harder than blink. Is this the same for a bassist? A bassist could fill me in.Fishbone wrote:I agree :?Nic wrote:Cones cool. But sad to say

Sorry.
And that's awesome.haro657 wrote:he always does the same moves with his bass, like when he lifts up his bass or swings his arm up
yeah. cuz i like to play it perfect and so that it'd go with the rhythm and everything, and i've played blinks and sums songs (by ear) and cone playes much more with all the little things and everything what completes the song and makes it what is it. blink is more like idk just playin like a-a-a-a-d-d-d-d-e-a-a-d-a-a u knowcurtis_sum_41 wrote:Is this the same for a bassist? Generally, bass is usually easier, unless they have a solo, then it's definitely harder.curtis_sum_41 wrote:People. lol because someone start mentioned Mark.Phili wrote:WHY are people talking about Mark? I know that most of you are die-hard Blink/Plus 44 fans but this is a Sum 41 board and a Cone thread.
BAH! mark hoppus and complicated bass lines should never be used in the same sentence unless theres a "never has played" in between. i love blink, but they dont have great bass, it follows the guitar on almost everything it does, but yes. cone is ALOT better, cone isnt even a good bassist by any means, but better than mark.TheRealUnderclassHero wrote:Sorry to bring it up again, but Mark Hoppus was only good because he could play complicated bass lines and sing at the same time. That's pretty hard to do. However, Cone is in general better than Mark, because he creates better bass lines that are in contrast with the guitar but on the same scale.
Therefore, Cone>Mark Hoppus.
