Deryck doesn't think UH is the final album...

I was searching for Sum news, and I found an interview in which Deryck said the following:

"What are your plans for music in the future? Do you see a new direction or are you just happy doing what youÃ¢â‚¬â„¢re doing?

DW: I donÃ¢â‚¬â„¢t know what the direction would be, but I do think that every single one of our records always sounds really different from the one previous and this latest record is so different. It sounds like something we havenÃ¢â‚¬â„¢t done before so IÃ¢â‚¬â„¢m sure our next record will be something different. It will be something evolved from this. IÃ¢â‚¬â„¢m sure there will be some kind of evolution for sure. "

thats good, but it still doesn't leave me 100% that they are gonna make a new one, and besides, its better to burn out then to fade away. "cough *offspring* cough"

I think it's important that the question was obviously suggesting other projects, and Deryck just assumed that the question meant in Sum 41. Obviously even though he only thinks a couple of weeks into the future, any further future that flits through his mind involves Sum 41.

Sum 41 are a bunch of gifted goons. If they puts their minds to it they can accomplish their wildest dreams. And they have the fanbase for it.

Actually Offspring's album supposed to be released around Early 2008... i hope.

But about the sums, yeah, they can pull off something amazing in the next album. they have the gift to continue doing music and improving it every time, the first band that started like a punk-pop/rock band, like Blink-182 and Good Charlotte and in the same era, yet i think its the only one who has the potential to be remembered in history.

very true. blink had pretty much the same sentiments after they released their last album, and look at them now (of course, we can all hope that blink will come to their senses).

Well, that's cuz Mark or Travis said that, and Tom, being the ass he was, just left like that, disbanding the band, all of a sudden, as was described by Mark and Travis, although Tom says there was tension for some times already, Mark actually said everything was fine and it was unexpected, so unless Deryck gonna go Tom and unexpectedly leave, i guess it's all good.
