I'm sure they are gonna be making them at least for 10 years more, unless Deryck is gonna be a father sometime in those 10 years, so then i think they will take some hiatus maybe or at least lay low for a while, yet i think they have the potential to survive in the scene a lot more that Blink 182 did, and other bands like Good Charlotte will.

That's because the sums aren't focusing on one genre.
They have punk rock, punk pop, alternative rock and even alternative metal. original and funny stuff like "Ma Poubelle" (definitely original).
Great and original music videos.
Combining of pianos and stuff in their music.

The only ones who could survive as much as sum41 are Green Day, cuz they survived for so long and people love them a lot.

I would love it if Sum 41 could last as long as bands like Aerosmith and The Rolling Stones... but it won't happen unless Sum 41 create some sort of legacy with their music. They're really close though.

I voted for 3-5 albums because it seemed most reasonable. At the end of the Underclass Hero special Deryck said he was more excited to be in Sum 41 than he'd had ever been. So with that being said, chances are new material will be (and some already has been) made.

The guitar playing should lean more towards the technical sides of Infected and Chuck in the future though if they want to stand out from the pop-punk pals Green Day and Blink-182.

If they do indeed make one more album (assuming their last one), they should have some sort of reunion with Dave or something. Maybe a Pain For Pleasure album?

I voted they won't make any more records. I think that they may do one more, but that wasn't an option. It just doesn't feel like they're excited about it. The only one who seems to give a shit during interviews is Deryck and they dont really look like theyre having a lot of fun if you ask me. Im thinking that Cone will leave next, and then there'll just be no more Sum 41.

there might be a few years before the next record, as the sums seem to all be settling down, getting married, having children (?).
theyll probably want to rest before going back into the studio

The sums are really close to leave a legacy, though, as was said.
They will be known as the crazy drinking dudes of the 2000s punk scene.
I mean, even Wikipedia lists their Internet Videos antics as something special and it has it's own story.
And Road to Ruin is definitely something to remember.

I actually thing they all seem excited more than ever, especially Steve which is hilarious and crazy as always.

I actually think they have the potential to survive as great bands like Rolling Stones (since '62), Van Halen (since '72), Whitesnake (since '77), Aerosmith (since '70), Megadeth (since '83), AC/DC (since '73), Kiss (since '73), Scorpions (since '65) and many more great bands who are already 30 to 40 years in the music industry.

The sums can definitely leave and legacy and create their own unique style, which they pretty much have, cuz they the first "bad boys" of the "punk pop" scene who started as some Green Day-Blink 182 copies and released even an alternative metal album as well as alternative rock, punk rock and punk pop.
They have to potential and they will be classic, unlike Blink 182 for example, but maybe Green Day gonna be there with 'em.

Yeah I mean if people think of the pop-punk genre, there's a high chance that blink-182 will be mentioned, same with Sum 41 and Green Day.

I guess so.

I mean, to say the truth, i liked Blink a lot before Sum, and i think Blink is pretty much punk classic and will be remembered, but i was reffering the fact that Blink for example has already disbanded.
and Sum and Green Day are still surving and kicking.

Altough its not always good example.
Jimi Hendrix's career lasted 2 to 3 years and he's still a pretty much big figure in the rock scene and guitar scene.

Cone seems really excited about this album. He won't leave, and Steve won't leave because he's Deryck's best friend. I think Steve is the least excited out of all of them, but maybe that will change once he gets his energy back.

I believe that Sum 41 has a lot more albums in them, and this isn't me being overly hopeful or blind or anything. I just think they have a lot more albums in them, I think they all love music, and I think they're all good friends. I can't see anything destructive in that. And if you had seen "Sum 41: Underclass Heroes", you would know that they're still having a lot of fun.
