I know this thread is hella old.
But I just could never understand cutting. Pain HURTS, dude. Whenever I hear about someone cutting themselves, I rub my wrists vigorously and thank God that cutting isn't a part of my life.

i cut once. and i felt it helped a bit. but somone elsei love cuts and it's pretty bad, she's adddicted to it. so that scared me and i stopped.

I'm not being a jerk, and I didn't read the entire thread...but yeah. I don't really understand the whole cutting thing either.
I went through all the same crap as every teenager, and I am actually diagnosed (since I was 13) with clinical depression and a severe Anxiety Disorder.
I have never felt the urge to cut.
And it was never really an issue at all with teenagers before this generation right now.
I just don't really understand.

when you get an urge of depression talk to sum1. talk about things like a big test you did well on or call up your parents (if your in college) and talk to them. it doesn't have to be about cutting just talk about something happy. worked for me :) :) :)
