Well, I guess it's a leak again. And I'm not even sorry for posting this, cause how am I supposed to know if it's leak or no in this fucking modern world :(

Crap...

This is really hard to resist. Why would they even put out another single only a week before the album drops? That makes three songs 'known' out of ten. I don't know if I want this. That's like 33% of the album that's already out.

This is just a personal opinion:I'd rather enjoy the full album as a whole new thing, if you know what I mean.

I'll let you know if I caved eventually :devious:

For me song sounds like a Linkin Park alot, with exception of Deryck's voice of course :silly:

The Guitar intro reminds me of Rise Against`s - Make it Stop. Very cool Song.

Well, that was not what I expected! But overall I like it.

I was a huge fan of Chuck, which had good riffs, heavy guitar and in your face beats. That’s what I like to listen to.

Since Underclass hero, I feel like Sum41 albums are a bit over-produced.

So that’s what I thought at 1st, but after a few times, I love the beat and the rhythm… I love the song, I hink it as a very good potential and I’m sooo Hyped for 13 Voices to come out. I just think it would be much better with less piano and stuff…

Sorry for the poor English, French Canadien friend here!

Seems to me that it's about going through a difficult time and finding solace in rock music.
Spoiler: show
Especially the parts

"We have the passion of the unbroken
And our souls we will not sell
You can beat us down but when we come around
We'll damn you all to hell"'

And especially
"Let me see you hold up your salute to the sky,
While you sing it out, bleeding out your lungs til you die"
The salute refers to the metal horns I think

The song gew on me, but it won't be a top 10 song for me. I really love the chorus, but hate the intro, breakdown and outro. I've started to enjoy the verses aa well.

I think it's an anthem meant to rally all rock fans and let them be heard after rock lost it's place to pop music.

The song would've been so much better, if Deryck's voice wouldn't be destroyed by so much effects and filters, which sound very unnatural and artificial.
For me this is really annoying, given the fact that this song's called death to pop, except this is a kind of satire on pop music. But given that his voice was like that on FMOD and War I don't think so.

In all disc of sums the voice is altered.

Yes, but unfortunetaly the use of alteration increased from album to album more and more. I personally can't listen to it for a long time nowadays. For me it's just to alienated, especially when his real voice is sounding so great in live performances.

His voice had more effects on it in Chuck and DTLI then it did in UH and SBM. I like how he went back to his layered voice especially in the chorus of FMOD. Reminds of Chuck.

I agree with the amount of post-processing on sounds is bit irritating - I hope there are at least a couple of rocker-tunes with the sort of.. raw sound. In this song though, I think the use of the really poppy-elements and sonics gets explained with irony/sarcasm - declaring the death of pop, and then using really poppy parts.. See the connection? :p

Well, if we really want to go into it... It's a bit weird for me to hear Deryck singing about this. I mean, they've always said that marking them as one single genre is bullshit and it doesn't really matter at all what genre you listen to if you like it. Just music matters. The whole genre thing is bullshit. And now he says rock is emotional and death to pop? In that context this statement is weird and unneccesary. Also, Deryck said he doesn't really listen to new, today's songs, he prefers old ones and obviously it's unavoidable to catch one or two, but I would suppose he shouldn't be bothered.
Nonetheless, I like this song better than the previous two, despite the inconsistent message.

Just cause he has effects on his voice doesn't mean the music is pop. Every genre of music now a days has effects on their voices. This one similarity doesn't make them the same. Pop music also uses instruments, does that make this pop too?
