Been ages since I've posted and I had problems logging back in to my account.

Absolutely loving Fake My Own Death and so stoked for the album. Sounds pretty good live too.

It seems that the song is getting a good reaction from most people that don't actively follow the band which is pleasing to see.

The DJ I was talking about earlier this week actually played it two times in a row yesterday, couldn't be more pleased!

MUST KEEP PROMOTING SONG!

Its awesome that it's got nearly 1.2 million views already. Surprised the band haven't mentioned it getting past the million mark.

It's so great live as well, loved when Dave lifted his guitar up. It sounds as tight as a nuns asshole.

it really sounds huge live! with an even better quality this would be even greater

love how dave sings along in the chorus and also tom doing his part of the vocals! I also see that tom plays most of the lead stuff! so sad to see he's in the back.

Do you think the Fake My Own Death video will make it on music channels even though it's not an official single? It'd be nice to see it on Kerrang! TV

FMOD has grown on me so much with each passing day. The energy of the song is perfect.

Listening back to the other albums again, I would dare to say that FMOD is more aggressive than most of the songs on Chuck. The Bitter End, Welcome To Hell, and Angels with dirty faces are really the only ones that are on the same level I think. The biggest reason is probably that FMOD is fast and stays that way for the whole song.

Even with Chuck, they started doing the "big heavy riff, drop into a slow ballad" thing with songs like 88 and We're all to blame. I hope the whole album lives up to the energy of this song.

Haha has anyone seen this?

Picking up a bit of steam on the web. Looks like the boys could be in a bit of trouble :confusion:

*EDIT* Here is an updated piece with further quotes, and also a response e-mail from Mark Klasfeld where he completely deflects any blame away from himself. Also, there are some interesting comparison gifs which show the minor changes Sum 41 made in order to have the memes within fair usage.

I don't know why, but I find the whole "they didn't even animate Nyan Cat right" bit to be hilarious. Who gives a shit, it's a cat farting a rainbow that was funny for a month. It wouldn't have improved the video in any sense because there's so much going on I doubt anyone but the creator himself noticed. With all that being said though, I do find it kind of strange that absolutely no precautions seemed to be taken when approaching the whole "memes and likeness of celebrities" idea. If that many images are being used it would've been smart to see if any of them were copyrighted.

It's also art imitating life (or vice versa): memes attacking the band in the music video, and the meme's creators attacking band (legally) in real life.

"Fake My Own Death" in live is amazing.
I really like the chorus that Tom sing on stage and i love when Deryck encourages to the audience.
I hope this song will be important in the future for Sum 41.
The video has over 2 millions of views in two weeks, it is great!

I'm so impressed it's got over 2 million views already. Been hearing it on Kerrang! Radio and Kerrang! TV. It was no. 1 on the list of 'hot' new vids.

The copyright issues are a blow, it's kind of ruined the video having to block it out. Hopefully they can find a solution but maybe they won't be able to afford to have Nyan cat or Doge in it anymore. We might be stuck with it forever lol but I hope not. It just seems so unprofessional of the band and the label to have not checked to see if they could use the memes.

And the Doge as well.

Enjoy the uncensored version here, while it still lasts.
