FINALLY!

That word has a lot of meanings. First, it's finally the time for Sum 41 to do a full Canadian tour for the first time since the infamous Strength In Numbers tour in 2007. Even though Billy Talent is headlining, the Canadians will still get to experience the power of SBM era.

That's right, the second thing is that it's time for Sum 41 to wrap up the SBM era with this tour and start working on the next album. It's been their longest tour stretch ever, after starting to support the album in March 2010. That's over 3 years!!!

Third thing, it's FINALLY the time that one of our most loyal superfans, Jeremy, is having a chance to see them live! After having bought tickets to two of their previous tours in 2007 and 2011 (which both got cancelled due to Deryck's back injury), he will do whatever it takes to make the third time a charm. And there, now it's jinxed.

Check the Facebook event here!

*The 4 shows in the US are Sum 41's headlining shows. No Billy Talent included.

What about the summer tour in Europe?
I remember something about touring in Europe (2013 july-august)

Other than that, I'm really excited for what's coming next album-wise!!

Back in November they said it's like 10% chance. But there hasn't been any word since, so I wouldn't keep my hopes up. :/

Oh, that's too bad.
It will be well worth the investment of time working on a new album though.
Spoiler: show
or not

Chill out, you silly Europeans. Sum 41 is ALWAYS in your countries. I'm sure you can manage the next few months without seeing them, considering us Americans have to wait several years for the band to come around.

Isn't it about time the band stop touring for a bit? They've been touring the SBM era since 2010! Time to write a new album! Give the guys a break.

*ahem* Sum 41 have been to the UK once since 2008. And not at all since SBM's release. A significant oversight, if you ask me.

I bought tickets to both Red Deer and Edmonton to make up for missing out. I should've done Calgary too, but I didn't want to spend a whole lot of money just in case they did end up canceling... Murphy's Law, etc.

Maybe not a proper tour, but I'm sure they've done some festivals? Canada's been the same way until now.

Nope. I think they may have had one date in London a couple of years ago, but that's it.

I'll probably make a proper thread once the Edmonton show is over, but I just wanted to say that the show last night was pretty great. I saw Deryck jogging near the parking lot entrance and I forced my brother to stop the car, somewhat blocking traffic, so I could go talk to him, haha. It was quick and awkward like

"Hey, Deryck! How's it going?"

"Not bad, just jet-lagged, I flew from Australia. I like to jog and just warm up before a show."

"Cool, cool... Yeah, I'm pretty drunk."

"Are you?"

"Yeah, that's my brother's car parked on the side of the road, haha."

"What's your name?" (Shakes my hand)

"Jeremy."

"Nice to meet you... You make those videos, right?"

"Yeah that's me!"

"Oh I've seen your videos. Nice to finally meet you!"

"Thanks! Nice to meet you too!"

Then I had to get into my brother's car because the parking officials were telling him he had to move. I got more drunk as time went on while I waited for Sum 41 to go on. I don't remember the setlist at all nor do I remember any songs from Screaming Bloody Murder being played. I tried recording some video. Maybe I'll take better footage when I'm in Edmonton. So yeah, it's 7am right now and I've been up since 5am. I'm too excited to sleep!

Yeah! I almost was going to mention I was the one that did the videos, but he said it before I could. Made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside that he still remembered! We were so close to the parking lot too we could've just parked and talked to him instead, haha.
