I don't know why so many people think Wikipedia is 100% crap!
As far as I know, I haven't found any false facts on that site... :confusion:
edit; except for that one ;P

Well I checked the sources of all what you said

http://www.punknews.org/article/48786/s ... nniversary
this is the website referenced on wikipedia that claims AKNF and DTLI sold 15 and 9 million, respectively, but provides no sources, and I have no idea how valid that site is..

The Chuck wiki article claiming 12 million copies sold, has no source

The Underclass Hero wiki also has no source for that info

The source for Screaming Bloody Murder is a Blink article from last fall, saying SBM has sold 36,000 copies..?

Probably not the most reliable information :P

Totally false, bro, Sum 41 have never sold as many records as Blink 182, and Blink "only" managed to sell like 12 million copies of Enema I believe, which was their best-selling record.

But no one knows if the figures are real?
I remember when the World Stage of Sum appeared on TV, the narrator said that Sum sold more than 12 million as of 2012, but i can't remember if said in USA or worldwide..

Quick search on RIAA home-page gives me info that Chuck and DTLI both sold Gold and AKNF did sell Platinum in the US. No mention of UH or SBM, so based on that 40 million worldwide is a WAAY too high a number. Platinum means 1 000 000 record sales in the US. In most European countries that's waaay lower, so they should have sold huge mountains of records in Europe and in Japan. (I guess Japan may be their biggest single market?)
But 12 million for all their records worldwide doesn't sound overly exaggerated to me.

Absolutely no way that's true. I'd say it's more like:

AKNF: 3million
DTLI: 2million
Chuck: 1million

With the rest not as strong.

Those above with no source are absolutely massive album sales. I highly doubt American Idiot by Green Day has even sold 15 million and that was one huge album. Of course that's all speculation on my part, but the bottom line is that the Sums aren't in that bracket of sales unfortunately

When Sum 41 came to Portugal in February 2011, the promoter of the concert said that Sum 41 sold over 18 million copies word wide but sbm wasn't realeased yet, cd sales doesn't matter anymore... So I guess that source is far from the reality... They've said that Sum 41 does almost 300 concerts a year, so, that's a good mark too but in the last 2 years i guess they haven't done so much

It could also mean the promoter is wrong, they did 300 concerts a year 10 years ago.

Yea theyve sold alot of records, but thats a bit over estimated.

Judging by certifications alone, they have probably sold about 5 million records world wide. I didnt feel like adding up all the numbers but in most countries platinum isnt over 250,000 copies.

These are their ceritifications (take Wiki for what it is, but i find it fairly reliable for friendly discussion)
