Lately here on TNS, we have been dealing with a lot of... nothing.
Sum 41 is doing... nothing.
Bands this website loves, or at least loves to talk about, are doing... nothing.
There really isn't much action to bring new fingers to this website, or to really get excited about.

So, because of all of this, it is becoming increasingly difficult to think up legit discussion topics for everyone on this forum to discuss, and the staff completely understands this. We love that you guys are taking it upon yourselves to keep this website active, and to making this place a fun way to waste your time throughout a given day.

However, we have been receiving complaints from some of the veteran members of the website, whether it be through Private Message, post reporting, or just topics discussed behind closed doors about the recent influx of spam topics and spam posts.

Here are a few brief examples of spam:

I had the same problem when I tried to change mine, so in in true Jables spirit, I gave up and ate a cracker :silly: I realise this is of no use to you whatsoever, but it's all swings and roundabouts isn't it? :glad:
I gave up to and ate a cookie! lol Crackers are better though! :2cool4u:

These quotes are not in any attempt to call any individual members out (although, I'm sure my "x" doesn't really keep you guys from guessing who made the posts...), but rather just specific examples of what we're trying to eliminate.

This is another PERFECT example of spam... seriously, it's more than obvious!

In an attempt to try to reason with you guys who would enjoy continuously spamming the forum, we have moved the "Fact" thread into the FORUM GAMES section of the forum, as well as another topic titled "What are you drinking right now?" In the future, we would prefer if you would stay away from creating topics similar to those two, but if you DO wish to do that, we would really appreciate it if you could create topics of that nature in the "Forum Games" section.

If the content in sections other than "Forum Games" doesn't improve, we will have to respond to reported posts with warnings and / or bans, and we really do not wish to do that.

Thank you for reading this message.

No. It is not pointed directly at you. I asked people to find quotes that represent "spam", and they located whatever they could as quick as possible. I gave them only a day or so to look up quotes... it was just coincidental.

Also, sumfan, I saw that original post. It was the exact type of post we are trying to eliminate from this forum and you are lucky I didn't overreact to it, because I could have done just that.

I feel as though the anonymity plan was severely damaged by me including my name in my pointless post :silly:
I don't know how I'm going to improve my post quality (seeing as they're already completely awesome) but where there's a will there's a way I suppose...

haha that actually made me laugh when you brought up my post :hehe: :2cool4u:

Edit: and anything that you may see as spamming, is not the least bit intentional :glad:

That's the problem. If you guys knew you were spamming, it would be easier to make you stop.

Yeah I don't intentionally do it, I noticed one of mine was up there, but I always thought spam was just random accounts made to promote something or troll.

That too but in other words, going off topic too much.

It's good to see that everyone can have a conversation over things but just threads are getting out of hand lately (One that comes to mind would be The Fact Thread)

I try and watch what I post and reply to anyway.

Hokai, hopefully most of you all feel amiable towards me, but if you don't I couldn't care either way. I agree and understand some posts are pointless, I try and avoid doing anything like it if I can. However If a thread or discussion erupts about something menial that a minority would find interesting or suitable content then I would still feel obliged to put my opinions on said topic across, maybe even if I was not greatly interested in it. Not every topic will spark interest with all the members. And as for the games, it is correct to move them to that section, they should have been there in the first place. It's a means of passing time and having fun, so veterans please don't get your knickers so twisted. Message understood loud and clear.
:winkwink:
