The Freakiest Thing Happened This Week

Post by Jeremy Kill »

Okay, so I don't know if anyone believes in The Secret or the power of positive/negative thinking (stuff like that), but I'm pretty sure something like that happened this week.

As some of you know, I wrote a song (The Days That Make Us) and I recently posted the lyrics here: http://theresnosolution.com/forum/viewt ... 36#p357036

It's an obvious hate-song and the last line is "It gets colder than you know". I wrote it out of spite because I was pretty angry when I was writing this song, I didn't care, it made me feel better. I wrote this song about a girl and last night this girl's best friend/roommate took her own life. I know it's ridiculous to think that it would've been caused by me, but it just feels like I predicted the future or something. As if posting the lyrics on the internet put out this idea that caused this event.

I also changed my "About Me" on Facebook to a link to Skumfuk. If anything it's coincidence. Super, fucking, weird coincidence.

I should write songs about getting girlfriends, getting laid and getting paid, etc, etc.

While you have an amazing song-writing talent and your music certainly has the ability to influence those around you, I don't think these two things are connected beyond mere coincidence. I'll admit that the prospect is quite intimidating but I don't have personal experience of this kind of thing (Having been brought in a place where suicide is unheard of). And don't write songs for the sake of writing light stuff. If you feel you need to write something out of spite, or desire, then the worst thing you can do is ignore it. That's what separates bands like Sum 41 from the mainstream.

i've had the nostradamus feeling before,it's a bit scary sometimes, there was a time in which i'd dream some random conversation and then the next day bam, same conversation word by word, it was weird, i swear those situations were not deja vu

A few years ago something like this happend too.
I was lying in my bed and suddenly the death of my grandfather came to mind.
It was kinda akward cause it happend 3 years ago and I was thinking of the place were it happend( it was a caraccident)
At the time I drove by it every morning with my bike.(My grandfather was by bike)
And I had this weird feeling that something was going to happen there I wanted to tell my friends but I decided not to brcause it was late.
The next day my friends and I drove by and there was nothing going on.
When I arrived at school a friend asked if I heared the sirens and I said no and asked her what happend.
She said there was an accident(the victim was also by bike) about a minute after I drove by it.
That was so awkward, things like this still happen some times

I don't feel like anything is a coincidence in this world.
It feels that everything that happens is dynamically linked to each other and bound to actions that has been made in the past that will affect the writings of the future or something.

It happens that i write stuff in the past that just gives me feedback in the future, that's why i like to write things i wish on a paper and see what happens.

Rational determinism and irrational superstition are two very different things. In response to the latter, we cannot go linking coincidences with supernatural occurrences. Yes, everything must have a cause, but attributing any two similar events to the same underlying cause is preposterous.

I don't know, maybe my mind likes to mess around or something, i don't really like to think about this kind of stuff cos I always end up being paranoid.
I don't think everything must have a cause/reason, sometimes shit just happens

That's an easy answer to a very much complex thing imo.
