I don't get it when people say things like "A-Band sounds nothing like B-Band because A-Band sucks!" it doesn't make sense to me. I mean of it sounds similar, it sounds similar. I don't think there was any intention to copy, but Sum 41 is definitely influenced by My Chemical Romance. Deryck once said that they were one of the last new bands that was actually good.

yeah I agree with that, besides, its music, and within the same genre you're going to find similarities in bands. I don't know MCR's music well enough, but they do seem like one of the better bands out there right now. someone needs to suggest songs from them I would like. Actually I MIGHT have a copy cd one of my friends gave me a few years back, gotta go hunt for it (edit: nope, it was all american rejects)Jeremy Kill wrote:I don't get it when people say things like "A-Band sounds nothing like B-Band because A-Band sucks!" it doesn't make sense to me. I recommend their album "3 cheers" that whole album is amazing and i personally think its the best music they've put out, but black parade was pretty good too. From what i've heard though avoid there new album at all cost...unless you're looking to chop your balls offfenderrocks wrote:someone needs to suggest songs from them I would like. I felt like they lost alot of there edge on there new cd. Planetary Go sounded like Hannah Montanna song, but maybe I'm the only one who thought that. Regardless, I'm glad you enjoyed itTyler. wrote:Nanana, bulletproof heart, planetary, the only hope for me is you, party poison, vampire money, all good songsBoni Boy Blue wrote:I enjoyed the new MCR album.

It has a good upbeat vibe to it. My favorites are Party Poison and Save Yourself, I'll Hold Them Back. I like the part in the latter song where he's like, "You mutha-fuckaaa!" Puts a smile on my face every time!Tyler. wrote:Nanana, bulletproof heart, planetary, the only hope for me is you, party poison, vampire money, all good songsBoni Boy Blue wrote:I enjoyed the new MCR album.

Anyone else notice that the choruses of "Subject to Change" and "Underclass Hero" by Sum 41 are somewhat similar?
