Graham Coxon- God of Indie rock/the most under-rated guitarist ever, i consider him the best of our time. you kinda need to explore his stuff to fully appriciate it but here are three examples

well the top 3 living guitarists in my opinion are david gilmour, jimmy page, and if bass guitar counts then i would say Benny Rietveld from santana

if we're talking skillwise, it's obviously buckethead or some death metal guy, but who gives a shit how skilled someone is (unless they're absolutely terrible of course). what matters imo is the oomph and badassery that a guitarist brings to the table. this solo by the white stripes, for example, is one of my favs:

I actually agree, no one can play power chords better than him.

Also Buckethead is pretty cool just for being weird. Paul Gilbert is the best techncially skilled guitarist I have ever seen, he's just crazy, although I don't like that music too much I can respect him so much.
