Every time I've started to listen to Holy Image Of Lies, I've had to listen to Dark Road till the end. But today I got a part of Happiness Machine stuck in my head, so I listened to only that song couple of times.
This was probably the first time (as far as I can remember) I listened to an individual part of Dark Road.
So I got to think, how do you guys listen to the song? Is it always from start to end, or do you consider it being 3 individual songs?
How do you listen to "A Dark Road Out Of Hell"?

I have it on my iTunes/iPhone as a single song. It works much better as the songs were made to function as one. IMO they shouldn't have split them up.

Re: How do you listen to "A Dark Road Out Of Hell"?
When I first listened to the album, I always listened to this song as one entire song. If I felt like listening to Sick of Everyone, I'd start with Holy Image of Lies and listen the whole way through. It just didn't feel right jumping in at the middle somewhere.
However, these days I don't care anymore. I usually listen to Holy Image of Lies and Sick of Everyone more than I do Happiness Machine. Once Sick of Everyone ends, I find myself skipping to Blood In My Eyes or Back Where I Belong.

Mostly as full song, but Holy Image of Lies is just something special on this record.. So when I listen to the individual song of these 3, it's mostly HIoL

i can never listen to Holy Image of Lies as one song, the other two can stand on their own as single songs. but i joined them up, so i ALWAYS listen to all three in sequence.

Re: How do you listen to "A Dark Road Out Of Hell"?
^This. Holy Image of Lies has a really good transition into Sick of Everyone, but from Sick of Everyone to Happiness Machine, the small break between the 2 kinda stops the momentum the other 2 songs got going. I usually listen to Happiness Machine as a seperate song, but Holy Image of Lies and Sick of Everyone are the 2 I usually listen to and consider as a whole song. Also, currently listening to Happiness Machine as I type this.Jeremy Kill wrote:When I first listened to the album, I always listened to this song as one entire song. Always as a full song. I like how it all flows together. I listen to the album in it's entirety anyway so it just works out that way.

Like Jeremy I once listened to them as a whole every time, but these days I just listen to either Holy Image of Lies or Sick of Everyone or the two of them in order, but no so much to Happiness Machine.

Most of the time I listen to it in it's entirety but when a song is stuck in my head I tend to listen to that song individualy. I still like happiness machine best though.

Re: How do you listen to "A Dark Road Out Of Hell"?
My music is mostly on shuffle so it would be individual songs. I sometimes to listen to a full album.
