I think they are better than ever, seriously. That's why I can't help but laugh at that statement.
At 30, Deryck should be better than 20 years and this is not the case. His fitness has deteriorated and I doubt he can sing any new songs. An Tom's vocals are terrible. Only Cone continues to progress. Stevo has always be an average drummer.

but Sum 41 live presently just doesnt have the same spark as it did back in 2002-2005. Maybe its there stage presence..They were more active on stage in the earlier years-they seemed happier. Or maybe Deryck's health issues have been affecting there performance. but they definatley dont edit his voice in the studio (besides distortion and stuff). Can't blame him for not being able to sing SBM very well, its a tough song to sing way up there..
Overall in my opinion
Green day live > Sum 41 live > Rise Against live
(Rise Against is THE worst live band EVAR!!!!)

or when he screams Freedom or Fuck You I Won't Do What You Tell Me :) or I like how Serij sings the ''When I Became The Sun I Shone Life Into The Man's Heart, and also their little speeches during the shows are awesome, they both do them ..
and also, watching Tom Morello live, what more can you ask for ? alright, maybe you could ask for Jimi Hendrix, but it would be without Zack and the whole fucking awesome band

When i saw Rise Against, it was fucking awesome!!! there was just standing room and maybe 1000 people there!!! people were surfing to hero of war and swing life away, it was awesome.

Luckily so. Relatively Sums are way better. If the Sums brought the explosions and other theatricals along with the extended setlist, they would be the same at its worst.

Green Day is far better live band than Sum 41. I have seen both, was in the mosh for Sum 41 and sitting for Green Day and GD was probably still more exciting. Even if Sum 41 managed to play a 2.5 hour set and had the explosions, it would not be as good as GD live because Billie Joe is a superior frontman.
This by no means means Sum 41 is shit live, it's just Green Day is on par with Muse and a few others for best live act in the world.
