This band is declining year by year.
If deryck was not an alcoholic, they would certainly be better

In which way do you think they're declining?greenday1987 wrote:This band is declining year by year.

Exactly.. Deryck's singing is a lot better than ever. It's so much more energic shows than it used to be in Underclass Hero era when there was no movement over the stage.TomiT14 wrote:lolgreenday1987 wrote:This band is declining year by year.

I think they are better than ever, seriously. That's why I can't help but laugh at that statement.
At 30, Deryck should be better than 20 years and this is not the case. His fitness has deteriorated and I doubt he can sing any new songs. An Tom's vocals are terrible. Only Cone continues to progress. Stevo has always be an average drummer.TomiT14 wrote:lolgreenday1987 wrote:This band is declining year by year.

that's not true, the offspring play self esteem pretty much every show and that's 17 years old. but i agree w/ you to an extent, i wish they'd just do a balls-out heavy (w/ a few good ballads of course) show. like strictly chuck, dtli, sbm, and king of contradiction. cuz when you start moshing to still wating or mr amsterdam etc and then underclass hero or in too deep comes on, you kinda feel like a fag for getting amped over it:0Pocket Monkey wrote:They need to cut the chord with Fat Lip and In Too Deep, they made those songs TEN YEARS AGO, most bands stop playing their breakout singles 3-4 years after it released, hell, the Beastie Boys havent played Fight for Your Right since 1988. its cool to play it at big shows for reunions but Jesus they play it EVERY SHOW
i actually agree w/ this too. and the guy's not a troll just cuz he has some criticism of the sums. i don't have an issue w/ anything he said.greenday1987 wrote:At 30, Deryck should be better than 20 years and this is not the case. on the albums yes, but live, HELL NO.GTFO!
His singing has improved incredibly
Yes, suggesting that his voice was overproduced in SBM.dbauer91 wrote:on the albums yes, but live, HELL NO.GTFO!

How come? Rebel Yell? That even doesn't sound like Deryck anymore, he's aquired a skill to transform his voice to a whole new level!dbauer91 wrote:on the albums yes, but live, HELL NO.GTFO!

I think the problem with UH songs are that theres so much stuff going on in them, like Pull the Curtain. I don't know if they'd be able to pull it off in a live setting like that. I'd like to see them do it but with all the effects and layered vocals I can't see them doing it.greenday1987 wrote:Returning to the subject, I wish they would play some songs from underclass hero as "March of the Dogs, ""The Jester", "Pull The Curtain, " "With Me" and "Confusion and Frustration ... What? Where have you been for the past months?FuckT41182 wrote:Sum 41 will probably never be able to play a show like Live In Tokyo or Go Chuck Yourself, but they're still good, they fucking need to add Mr. Amsterdam back on the setlist though ...
