SBM streaming on sum 41 site

I was kinda bothered why they stream the whole album on their site.. I mean, it really sounds like it will be their last album and they want everyone to enjoy everything for free.. I know you could just download it but still it kinda bothers me EVERYTHING is on the site & I bought it.

loads of bands do this. it's not as if the album will be on there forever, they'll take it down next week.

I hope so, and I've only seen a few tracks being streamed on other band sites.

it's just another way for them to "promote" the album. the idea is, they'll put it up on their website for a few days and hope people will listen to it and think "oooo, I quite like this. I'm going to buy it".

Yeah, even Underclass Hero was streamed on the MTV website too before it was released. Green Day's streamed a few of their songs off 21st Century Breakdown... I can't really remember anyone else at this time, but it tends to be a common thing when a band has their entire album streamed on a website before release.

a lot of albums used to get put up on Myspace just before release as well (when it was cool to use Myspace, I don't know if this still happens!). sometimes they get put up on other websites like MTV or even NME.

but you're not their target audience for doing this. some people aren't as clued up on the Internet as you and will use official websites from the band or label as their only source of news on their favourite music.

It's a convenient way of sharing the music with all your friends on Facebook or Twitter to get them to sample the album without having the hassle of downloading the leak or showing them a song while they're in your car.

Needless to day, 90% of my friends aren't even into Sum 41 anymore because they still think they're making pop-punk music. I'll post this link tomorrow and hopefully they'll like the new and improved Sum 41.

doesn't bother me in the slightest, it get's done for loads of bands. they know the album is already over the Internet anyway.

it's 2011, the labels know their perfect business model for the music industry has been crushed by the Internet and are looking into new ways of making money from music.

Shouldn't it be;
