The Vinyl Thread

Post by wiggs1441 »

Come here to talk about everything vinyl. New pick-ups, etc.

I just picked up the Alexisonfire "Old Crows / Young Cardinals" 2xLP on White Black Swirl and Red Black Swirl. Aswell as the Conan O'Brien 7" released on Third Man Records.

i have only one vinyl of my own, Billy Talent 3, i bought at their concert. my dad has tons of records at home, i weighed the box they're in and i think it came out to something like 70-80 lbs. he's got old Judas Priest, ACDC, The Cars, Pat Benetar, John Mellencamp, etc...

theres a record store about 15 minutes away, i went there once but all they have was old vinyl of blues and jazz, but what they had of rock n roll was the albums that were never really well known. and they wanted like $30 plus for anything! but maybe that's a good price? i don;t know i've never really hunted for vinyl. my BT3 was $20.

I only have The Beatles - LOVE and Gaslight Anthem - American Slang, vinyls of artists I actually listen to are hard to come by in this town, plus their not the cheapest thing a lot of them are $30 plus :suicide: they sound soooooooooooooooooooo good though.

same as Mitchell,I am not a big fan of vinyls,bu my uncle has many of them and mostly the greatest bands like ACDC,Judas Priest,Metallica,Pink Floyd,Iron Maiden,Guns n Roses,The Beatles and more...

the funny thing is how he got to them,my uncle is a builder, but he can do almost everything - paving, bathrooms and things with wood, and one day a man had no money to pay him for his work,so he gave my uncle like 40 vinyls he had :winkwink:
This is Mark Allen Hoppus. He likes long walks on the beach. This, this is travis barker. He likes to be read poetry just before sunset. And me, I like to stick small pieces of furniture up my butt.

I spy on my dad while he is taking a shower just like everyone else

Tom:Yea than he starts touching me and i think thats masturbation
Some people think were idiots or perverts dont argue were both.

this. I just don't have the money to waste on records right now. I need to sell loads of my 7" records too, most of them I don't even want.

here's my tradelist if anyones interested, I haven't updated it in ages though and I've sold some of the stuff on there!

I can post some pictures too at some point if anyone is interested.

All I have is The Gaslight Anthem - American Slang. I'm tempted to hunt eBay for the Sum 41 Chuck vinyl, but I'm trying to save some money.

I've seen Chuck on there a few times (I don't search for Sum 41 on there much) and it doesn't always go for silly money. if you're lucky you could pick it up for less than $20.

Awesome. I really like the guitar sounds on that album, so it'll be interesting to hear them on vinyl (whenever I get a player of course).

AKNF tends to go for more, from what I've seen. I believe they're the only 2 albums to be pressed on vinyl. there are a few 7" singles too. you can pick up The Hell Song dirt cheap and We're All To Blame is fairly cheap as well. off the top of my head I can't think what else has been pressed onto vinyl.

Nice. Once I start making a little more money again, I'll be sure to pick those up. I bet All Killer would be hella expensive though since it was so popular.

that's a good tool for checking the value for vinyl. it often only lists the higher prices that records go for, but it still gives you kind of an idea of the value of a particular record.

vinyl looks and sounds cooler/better than CDs. it's something to collect. it's fun for us geeks to hunt down a record you've been looking for for ages and finally buying it, taking it home and listening to it.
