Your voice sounds extra good in this new one! Awesome. Can't wait for the high quality songs you recorded.

so fucking good. it has a summer vibe, mainly because the guitar sounds like a ukulele/mandolin cross. simply awesome.

Re: Songs by fenderrocks (latest: "Heart Of Gold")
Samuel - Thanks, I think I'm learning how to control my breathing more so its giving me more voice control
Sarah - Thanks!, I haven't written too many fast ones, wanted that vibe again. I noticed I enjoyed recording/singing songs like HKTRS and Headcase better, and they're more upbeat.
Dylan - I love using the capo, and when you put it low on the fret board it really gives the guitar a different vibe, this song has it on the 5th. Glad you like it, I appreciate it!

Re: Songs by fenderrocks (latest: "Heart Of Gold")
just an update on the songs. Mike emailed me and said his buddy had a death in the family and wouldn't be coming til Monday. I think he works in the industry or something, so he wanted him to heart the songs. He said they sound amazing so far.
and I changed the site over to this: http://hlmmusic.webs.com/

Thanks! yeah, seems like I've been on the same kinda vibe/melody lately, I tend to get stuck on one for a while then change again. I kinda want to write another one like Heroin Killed The Rock Star, I have the most fun playing that one

Re: Songs by fenderrocks (latest: "Fate's Apology")
How do you come up with your melodies? must be a weird question to you, but i find it difficult to come up with leads. maybe because i've always been a bass player, i find myself in a groove more than in a lead.

Re: Songs by fenderrocks (latest: "Fate's Apology")
Well I really just play rhythm for the guitar and use vocals as the melody. Most of the time I just start strumming and a vocal will come then lyrics. I'd say the song with the most lead-kinda melody is Simple Difficulty, which just came from a minor chord progression I was playing around with. I use the capo a lot as well to mix up the sound.
and that didn't answer your question at all...lol. Honestly is just kinda comes. Like D's talked about, if its not working I just walk away, but usually I just start playing what feels right. I guess advice wise, start with a bass tone, then build a melody around that. And try to play every day, the more you play the more comfortable you get and the easier it comes.
