can't remember if we've really discussed about Blu Rays much on here. so, do you buy Blu Rays? how many do you own? do you still think they're overpriced? talk.

yea, they are coming down, but still are fairly pricey compared to DVD's. I've started buying some of my favourite films on Blu Ray even if I already own it on DVD, may have to start selling some of my DVD's soon! I tend to buy alot of the ex-rental Blu Ray's from Blockbuster as well, they work out alot cheaper sometimes.

I might have to complie a list of mine soon, I only have about 20 or so at the min though.

I've started buying blu-rays recently, my girlfriend is getting me the Back To The Future trilogy for Christmas. Right now I own 14.

I don't really have an issue with the prices of the disks. Sure they might be a little more expensive but they are so much more awesome than DVDs. The same thing happened with the video to DVD transfer and now look at the price of DVDs. When blu-ray is in more demand, the price will drop.

Yeah, since I bought my new TV I've been getting into buying some Blu-Rays. Mostly they're my favorite movies or movies I really want to watch in HD. I'm not sure how many I own, but it's somewhere around 10. I don't really care as to how much they cost really, depending on how badly I want the movie. Though, I wouldn't drop $35 for Alice in Wonderland.

I never really pay more than a tenner for single movie, I usually wait for the film to be cheaper on Amazon/Play or buy an ex-rentak copy from Blockbuster. though I did pay £35 for a skate movie.

Yeh I buy Blu-rays, just counted and I've got 76! (really didn't think I had that many :|). Only worth it if you've got a huge TV or projector though.

I've JUST received the Back To The Future trilogy on Blu-ray so I'll let you know how good the quality is. Avatar is definitely the best quality Blu-ray I've seen and generally all animated films look great too.

I own no blu rays and am not intereted in bying them until they'll stop selling DVD's. And since the blu ray players can play DVD's too, I see no reason, why I'd replace all my DVD's with blu rays. I'm fine with the DVD quality, even if the blu ray quality is better.

I dont think they will stop selling dvds not for a long time anyway

I'm going out on a whim and saying most film publishers will stop using retail DVDs in the year 2016

I doubt they'll stop producing DVDs anytime soon

remember when new films would be out on "VHS and DVD", then "DVD and PSP Disc", then "DVD and HDDVD" and now "DVD and BluRay" ? DVD's are proving to be the most versatile and long-withstanding digital video disc. it's not going away for a very very long time. i personally don't have any BluRays because my tv is not high def, and i don't have anything to play BluRay Discs. thats right, i don't even have a PS3.

I think if my old TV didn't tits out and force me to buy a new one, I'd still be watching a non-HDTV and buying DVDs. I must say though, it's so much nicer to play videogames and watch movies. I didn't think I'd care so much about the difference it made, but I don't think I'd go back. I'm not even an avid gamer or movie buff.

I got well into the whole HD thing after I bought my TV, I've had Sky+HD in my bedroom for a while now (HD satellite) and I don't want to go back to watching sport or anything in SD. I'm not really a huge gamer though, this year I've only really played on MW2, Skate 3 & F1 2010.

I've never seen HDDVD movies, isn't that the kind of disc that xbox 360 uses??'
