Green Day - Cigarettes And Valentines (New Song)

Some of you probably don't know the story behind American Idiot. So long story short. Before American Idiot, Green Day recorded an album called Cigarettes And Valentines. The recordings were stolen from the studio. They said fuck it, and recorded American Idiot. The song Cigarettes and Valentines was played last night. It will be on the new live album.
Sounds like old Green Day. Nic likes.

And the Sums say they don't like playing unreleased songs live because it turns off the crowd.

It really is oldskool. If that album was like that song, I would really love it more than AI!

I think he was referring to what they've been saying as of recent, calm down.

So I guess they played Up All Night and other new songs recently? Can you give me a link to those live songs please?

He didn't specify, and that's a horrible example. Sum 41 has made a new record in the last 7 years. Blink-182 has a reason to be quiet about new music. Sum 41 already released a new song from the record, or at least a demo version of it.

In Sum's defense, I can understand. I'd much rather hear songs I already know rather than songs I have never heard before.

Sum 41 shoud do like The Offspring. They should put Skumfuck in their setlist and now and then change it with an other song.

The offspring did the same with Hammerhead, isn't? They changed it with Half-truism if I'm correct.

I couldn't know a better way to hear a song for its first time other than live.
It would be so awesome to be at a show where they'd play something that no one else has ever heard before.

But I agree with the Sums. Just listen to the MTV Hard Rock Live 2004, where they played We're All To Blame for the very first time. Especially the end of the song.

For the bands' view, it's more fun to have the crowd on all the time rather than having them listening carefully to the new song. But for myself, I'd do anything to hear a new song live that hasn't been released yet.

Another new one, Olivia:

Cigarettes And Valentines sounds really great and old school! I like! Olivia sounds like another unreleased b-side or whatever... like that Drama Queen song. I was sure Drama Queen would be released as a b-side on some single but it never did, it was also this quiet acoustic song..
