made SUM 41 frontman Deryck Whibley's portrait for the book in a makeshift studio set up in the underground garage at his Bel Air, California home. SUM 41, originally from Ajax, Ontario is touring throughout the US as part of the 2010 Van's Warped Tour. Deryck was very reserved and soft-spoken: a pleasure to shoot. Even though our session only lasted about 7 minutes, we came away with some great images.

D's horseshoe tattoo looked a lot better when I didn't see it completely. Hmm. I've had a tattoo fever for while now but I think I'm gonna wait at least a year so I'm 100% sure of my decision.

Nah, i think he wrote it on their cos I've seen that shirt before without all that on it. It's still a nice shirt, though.
