Re: Blink 182 Discussion Thread
The EP sounded closer to Neighborhoods than I expected. Not necessarily a bad thing, but I thought I'd fall in love with these songs almost as instantly as I did with the previews. When I Was Young is probably my favorite track. The rest with exception to Boxing Day are pretty much even for second place. I've had 5 or 6 listens of the EP already and it's still growing on me. Neighborhoods was a grower, this one is too. The problem is that some songs sound like AvA b-sides with Mark as a guest vocalist rather than Blink-182. I think it'd be better if they went back to a more raw sound without all the "spacey" guitar and ambience, or at least cut it down to a minimum.

I really like the EP, although I think I actually liked Neighbourhoods more on first listen :O Boxing Day is so awesome, probably my favourite. Pretty Little Girl verses are some of the best things I've heard from blink but I don't like the chorus quite as much. Yelawolf was kind of random, doesn't sound bad or good for me

Re:
That's my favorite song off the EP. This is how I rate the songs, top being the bestGregorovich wrote:I'll say it again; Dogs Eating Dogs had the potential to be the only Blink song I've ever absolutely loved, but it fell flat on its face with the chorus. DeLonge needs to hand over the mic to Hoppus for good.
1. Dogs Eating Dogs
2. Disaster
3. Boxing Day
5. When I Was Young & Pretty Little Girl
Yes there is no 4, I don't really like either song much. Like people are saying, (to me) 3 of the 5 songs sound like AVA. DED obviously sounds like +44, but I wish DED didn't have such a slow chorus. The Yelawolf rap is ehhh, it's bearable but it is odd. All in all I would give this a 3.5/5. I think it may be a tad bit better/worse than Neighborhoods (I'm still on the fence on if it's better or worse than Neighborhoods).

Re: Blink 182 Discussion Thread
I really like this EP. It's a major improvement from Neighborhoods. I was really disappointed in Yelawolf's rap part though. I feel like it really fell short lyrically and how it was incorporated into the song, it could've been so much better, but it wasn't awful. I'd give this EP a solid 7.5/10.
so very very true.Jeremy Kill wrote:The problem is that some songs sound like AvA b-sides with Mark as a guest vocalist rather than Blink-182. I think it'd be better if they went back to a more raw sound without all the "spacey" guitar and ambience, or at least cut it down to a minimum.

Just recently fell back in love with the self-titled album this week. For those who don't listen to this band, this album was like their Screaming Bloody Murder. They were darker, heavier and more diverse than they have ever been. Obvious, Violence, Stockholm Syndrome, Easy Target... I used to be impartial to Blink until I heard Violence. It was such a weird song to hear from them, but at the same time I couldn't get enough.
I don't know why, I just felt like talking about Blink, haha.
