Well for me, not looking for new bands doesn't mean no new music.
I'm always looking forward to the new material from the bands I like.
But I feel great with what I already got, so no need to discover more bands.
yea, but saying that, there could be bands out there that you havn't heard of yet, and you could fall in love with them, and prefer them to some of the bands you love now.

music is constantly changing, and I think it's healthy to investigate these cahnges, discover new bands. even if you don't like them, you just don't have to listen to them. there are thousands and thousands of bands/artists/groups out there, with more and more appearing each day, why would you need to only listen to a handful of them?

new music could mean new friends, new memories, new/different views on life and could change your life for the better. is that not worth investigating?

same, most new stuff is shit that's way too overplayed on the radio.
stop listening to the fuckin radio then and actually put some effort into finding new music. the internet is your friend.

I don't understand why people wouldn't want to discover new music? am I the only one here who's thinking this?
which is why I said that when I look for new music, I look for what I listened to on Fuse years ago.

for example, a few months ago I found out I like some Hawthorne Heights
so you only want to listen to music from a specific time period? and, if you used to listen to it years ago, it's not new music to you, is it?

This is a good point.

I'm not shutting my ears or anything. If I hear something good from a band I didn't know earlier, I might go find out some more material by them. Of course, if that music came to me, I'd give it a chance.

But I'm not surfing the net to find new music. If the new music finds me, it's a different story.

This. Since my computer crashed like a million times and i lost their songs, i haven't really listened to them anymore, or at all, to be honest, i've discovered a lot of new bands and i guess i forgot about Sum 41.

Sum 41 was the first band I ever really liked. I bought chuck in grade seven and absoletly loved no reason. Within the next two years or so I got the rest of their albums. I always have a sum 41 song on my mix CDs and it's always different. I don't know if I'll get so tired with sum 41 that I stop listening to them, but I can't see it happening.

I consider myself a true fan, despite both listening to new bands and not hanging on this site anymore. I've seen them twice, I know my stuff as well.

it's cool.

...and answer to your question further up this page, the songs from then are kind of new to me, because they were from the bands I rarely listened to, or didn't liosten to at all when I was younger, but I knew about them.

I've liked sum 41 ever since fat lip (like most) although my tastes have moved on to much harder stuff (metal/hardcore) I still very much enjoy their music, although I listen mostly to DTLI and chuck. and yeah, I'd still say they're my favorite band actually.

oh and yeah, I do actually like UH. although I'm not always in the mood for it.

No bobbyjames, you're my hero!

As for Sum 41, I still like their music, but I'm not crazy for them. I'm not going to say that everything they put out is awesome because sometimes it isn't. I still listen to their music and I'm looking forward to anything new they come out with.

In regard to new music, personally, it's hard for me to find new music because I need to take time to absorb a whole album, haha. I'll listen to one album for two weeks, then move on. But a lot of the time I'll go back to albums I haven't listened to in a while. But I guess if I need any new music, I can just creep bobbyjames' Last.fm page. Hahaha!

sum 41 would have to be my favorite band, they were the first band i ever got into. i know every single of their songs. but i'm not obsessed like i used to be, i definately don't listen to them as much as i did last year, or even a couple months ago. but they'll always be my favorite band, and nothing'll change that
Children of the beast embrace,
To scorn and the human race,
Consume the light that hugs the earth,
And aid the womb in giving birth,
To a group that will appear,
And guide you through this final year,
The dark armies then will come,
When the sum is 41
