no one's judging the "book" though, they're just judging the cover. no one said anything about the songs behind those titles will be crap.

I want "Baby, you Don't Wanna Know" to be a joke track that makes fun of pop songs. I imagine/hope that its one of those purposely cliche'd songs.

I don't think judge the whole album only by the titles, the album is more than titles and cover is energy, power, years of work and grow and mature in every way and not only this album has been a bit strange titles remember "Dave's Possessed Hair / It's What We're All About", "Fat Lip", "Crazy Amanda Bunkface", "Hyper-Insomnia-Para-Condrioid", "WWVII Part 1&II", "88", "Noots", "March Of The Dogs", etc. And many of these songs are amazing songs, personally I like most of the song titles of the new album, and can't wait for listen all the songs. So I don't judge the titles until hear the songs.

If you're not judging the book (or imply at least something), then you're not judging anything. And by "you" I mean this guy:
Jesus Christ Supermarket wrote:[...]
They mostly range from being Uncreative to being cliched. "Time for You to go"... yeah that's subtle. They sound like shitty Linkin Park titles tbh. I'm kind pissed I've been waiting for an album for nearly three years that features a song called "Baby You Don't wanna Know" :sosad:
You can't just judge only the titles, because they have no meaning without the connection to the song. It's like judging the number 50 .. well, 50.. 50 what? Blowjobs? Or stabs in the back? Makes quite a difference.
So, which one is it. I couldn't feel less sorry for your own setup for disappointment there, because that post was at best meaningless / a waste of time - or at worst judgemental.

he's still just saying the song titles are shit. kinda silly how he said he's been waiting for a great album or whatever and has been let down by the song titles. but he'll most likely end up loving the songs

I know, but that still doesn't make it a more reasonable thing to say. But may be I'm just having another one of those "Am I just way too smart and thoughtful for this world?" kind of moments that I get right before I get too tired to stay up any longer, I don't know.
So in the spirit of the new Sum 41: Fuck you, they're back, I don't give a shit about anything else and I'll be back tomorrow as well.

It's always nice to wake up and find a tracklist :devious: I'm happy with most of the song titles, although some of them are quite dissapointing. But like said before, a bad title doesn't influence the quality of the song. I can name a lot of awesome songs with bad titles. And honestly I don't really care about the title anyway, as long as the songs are all awesome I'm satisfied.

Well, I already thought those titles were pretty reliable.

There are some titles that get me excited like Happiness Machine and Baby You Don't Wanna Know.

Let's say the titles still need to grow on me, I guess it's just a matter of 'getting used to', allthough the song about the car crash could've had a more original title imo.

Yeah, I'm sure these titles will grow on us as time goes on. Take "Crash" for instance. It's a simple, plain, generic title... it's reminiscent of "Pieces," one of Sum 41's best-known songs. I'm not fazed by the titles or album art or anything of the sort. With Sum 41, I've always been interested in where they would take their sound. Sure, getting married probably made Deryck focus harder than ever in making legit music with poetic titles because he was living his happiest days. Now, he clearly doesn't give a fuck. Like Simon said, they're back, fuck us... And I swear that's going to end up being some sort of official motto. Like on the album, underneath the title "Screaming Bloody Murder" it should read "We're back, f**k you."

Any chance somebody could ask Matt/Cone to clarify Skumfuk? You know, whether it has a new title and is an extra track or if it is one of the names we have on that tracklist. I really wanna know cos I think we'd be stumped till the album comes out if we didnt.

i don't want skumfuck to be after the outro track. i hate when the album ends then there's another song, unless it has more of an end on skumfuck and actually seems like the end of the album

Yeah, the sentence at the end of the song would be a pretty good way to end the album, I think.

I'll be alright...?

I think that would be a good message to go out on. Spend the whole album talking about how fucked up everything is, and leave the listner with a hint of optimism at the very end.

yeah the end of skumfuck would be alright, but if the track before it feels like an outro/end to the album and hten skumfuck starts that'd kind of irritate me

Yeah, absolutely. I wouldn't like that either.

I think Deryck stated he wanted to write an album, and not just a bunch of songs, so it would be kinda weird to have one song hanging at the end.

Thats what I hate about bonus tracks. When you listen to an album on your ipod or whatever, it has like a proper, good finish, and then you get this random bonus track which jars completely and spoils it.
