Why haven't they been in the spotlight since 2001?

I'd rather have them continue making hard rock/metal albums. Back in 2001 (i was 6 or 7)i hated All Killer No Filler and i still don't like it that much to this day (other then Motivation and Heart Attack) I feel as if they made that album because they wanted money and to get known so they can make more albums (i don't blame them) the songs don't really have much of a meaning other then "Yeah! We hate our parents and following rules! Uh-oh i have girl problems!" I fell in love with their other albums though.

to be honest there's not much else happening when you're a teenager so i loved it lol

Yeah at least they did it at the appropriate age and then stopped and didn't drag out with it until they were pushing 30 like blink did.

Maybe if they hit everyone who has heard Fat Lip before with forget-pens and release the same song again. Watooosh! But this one is far from a radio hit so I'm not really optimistic about that the sums will get super popular with this. And I don't want them to be. In fact, I was super pissed when one creep from the school I was in copy-pasted the lyrics of "Still Waiting" on his wall on Facebook. It just didn't fit him at all. And that's just like foretaste of the Sums being famous so I don't really want them to be that much known.

I don't think it could happen if they tried to do that again. When I look back at the time Fat Lip came out, everything that was going on at the time was perfect for them to hit it big. It was summer, pop-punk bands were the music to listen to, pre-teens and teens were doing the ol' "I hate my mom and dad" bit...

I don't know whether or not Screaming Bloody Murder will be a commercial success, but I'm hoping it will be a critical success. I know "everyone's a critic" and it's all opinions and things in the end, but a part of me wants to see the world notice Sum 41 grow up.

Well said, and I hope that they will be taken more seriously, 'cause 80% of the people I know who actually know them link them with songs like Fat Lip, In Too Deep and With Me, what kinda disappoints me

It honestly really annoys me when people call Sum 41 A "shitty pop-punk band" People can't get over the fact they made ONE(IMO) shitty record.
