Sum 41 and blink-182
Why are Sum 41 and blink so related to each other. I see that this forum site is 20 % blink. Is it because they're both punk rock? o_O

They're two sides of the same coin.
Both punk rock, partying, drinking, hotel room wrecking idiots.

A good amount of people on this site came from Punkdisasters, a Blink-182 forum.

Re: Sum 41 and blink-182
No they aren't. Pop-punk does not equal punk. Just like nu metal does not equal metal. blink-182 is pop. I wouldn't even call them pop-punk. I wouldn't call them rock. I would maybe call them pop-rock. Sum 41 is more rock/alternative. But the bottom line is-they aren't punk. Real punk is like Discharge, The Clash, Exploited, ect.boniboyblue wrote:Last time I heard Pop-Punk was a form of Punk music so yeah they areBass Cone wrote:Sum 41 and blink-182 are NOT punk. Re: Sum 41 and blink-182
I never said Punk = pop punk, I said it was a form of Punk like Nu Metal is a form of Metal. Like all music it evolves into something similar but new. Like in the 70s the Punk scene burst opened which evolved from Rock and then into the 80s/90s pop-Punk came around which was a fusion of genres.Bass Cone wrote:No they aren't. Anyway, I'm not getting into an argument over something so childish and silly, it's my opinion and you will not change it.

Re: Sum 41 and blink-182
I have no idea maybe it's because they sound similar( at least in the AKNF era)

Re: Sum 41 and blink-182
Except for those bands are all from the 80s. blink-182 and Sum 41 are the punk of this day and age. Anyone who can't handle that has some issues to deal with.Bass Cone wrote:No they aren't. Re: Sum 41 and blink-182
Shit. That's harsh. People have their own opinions on music and you give up on both the forum AND THE BAND?
