I'm new to all pedals etc.
This'll be my first one
Whats a good pedal that will go with a Fender Champion 300, 90 watt amp. And a Squire Standard Telecaster. And a Deryck Whibley sig, that doesn't cost more than a house, small car and or russain mail order bride.
I need help with pedals

well like you could buy a pedal that has like 40 or so pre set digital effects in it, or you can go with a pedal that will process one particular effect. so in other words you could buy a pedal for like 100 bucks that would be a whole bunch of digital effects like distortion reverb wah and everything else. the digital sound is not as good as the other one. which would just be one pedal, say distortion, it has like little knobs to preset how much distortion you want and tone and stuff. this will only switch from your amp (clean) to your pedal (distorted).

I've had the exact same one for about 2 or 3 years. It's pretty good if you combined it with the distortion on your amp, if you can adjust it on your amp. I just found out the other day that on the digitech website there's a whole bank of custom settings from users thatsound like effects by certain band like Metallica, Iron Maiden, Green Day, etc. It's pretty badass.Gunner wrote:Maybe just ask the people that work at the music store or something. I'm not big on pedals, but I have the Digitech RP80. It's pretty decent. I got a pretty good tone and distortion out of it with my Fender Frontman 25R.
I know they cost a little more but I've got a Pod XT made by Line 6.
Dave said in an interview that he uses a Line 6 Pod ( http://gc.guitarcenter.com/interview/davebaksh/ )
It's cool because it gives you a bunch of effects as well as different amp models. You can get them for around 150-200 on ebay.
The thing I like most about it is its got a bullet-proof die cast chassis
---btw, I've seen a pocket version of the pod that goes for around 100-125 bucks.

Re: I need help with pedals
I had Vox 50 Watt, but i found it had trouble with performance as i pushed it, such as an increase in volume ruined the gain.kevz2kool wrote:or you could be cheap like me and get a VOX amp thats pretty kickass, had built in amp settings and Built in effects. its pretty kickass
Instead, i use a Roland Cube 60, and they're really good, and have effects too, but pedals may be better if you wanted a specific sound.
Personally, I don't use them, I think I don't need them
