How about this...

Post by UnderclassHeroine »

Okay
There are a few fans.
(Like myself)
who don't understand some things on the tabs.
So I was thinking the members of TNS and KOD should make a "How to Play..."
Like vote on a song from Sum 41 & a different band.
And someone will make a video on how to play it.
I really want to learn Fat Lip.
I just don't have the time.
To try and learn some of the stuff.
And the only one in my house that helps me with it.
Is working a lot now.
Or busy taking care of his daughter.(my niece)

I do know a few people that know guitar, but one has been shipped off for the Navy.
And others I don't see.
A lot at least.
Anyways.
I was going to put this under suggestions.
But I'm thinking it should be a TNS and KOD thing.
And I just thought I'd post it here.

Anyone think it's a good idea?

 duh duh duuuuh!!!

sounds like a pretty cool idea

forum war aside, why dont you make a youtube channel or something?
people who make the videos will have the password and can update the channel whenever they want, and the videos can be posted in any forum.
and people can request songs that they would want to learn...?

I'd do it if I had a camera. I'm trying to get one soon before Strength in Numbers.

But I usually learn how to play from YouTube. But there are a lot of shitty covers out there, so you have to know all the stuff people play right and then mix it all as one when you play it yourself in order to play it properly.

You just have to know the basic power chords and octaves and you are pretty much set for learning Sum 41 songs.

Well, that's just my method of things, it doesn't have to be yours. It took me a week or two to properly learn my first Sum 41 song (Motivation).

If you try to learn songs you really enjoy, it becomes so much easier because you know the beat and the rhythm, your hands just have to get used to playing it. Don't stress yourself over learning a song or learning through tabs, because sometimes a lot of the tabs are pretty crappy to begin with.

There are probably some videos on YouTube that teach you some basics of guitar and even some songs. Here are some I found:

It's that I seriously don't have all that much time anymore.
Teachers are pounding me with homework.
And Layla has been crying a lot.
And I don't even have a room, a bed to call my own.
Nothing.
I'm not good at remembering beats. All I know is the beginning of three songs. 88, Theres No Solution, and Fat Lip.
Like the first line.
