Hi Skumfuks
Is there gonna be a new sum 41 album?
I do know there is a fact sum 41 has no drummer yet
I do know deryck whibley is writing some music for sum 41
But i do not know if this is enough for a new album.
Please answer my question skumfoks

As far as I know that's all we know.
Deryck have confirmed that they have been auditioning drummers in a radio interview not so long ago. He also said he was working on some new Sum 41 stuff.
The most plausible conclusion I'd take right now is that there is a slight possibility there will be a new album and that there will be quite some time until any announcement at all.
And that is when I'm being straight up optimistic (which usually haven't worked so well, but we have to remember they don't have a label anymore)

With that said, I do remember reading that Deryck was speaking with labels like Warner Bros, so hopefully someone will have themHugoDisasters wrote: we have to remember they don't have a label anymore)

I think epitaph records would be the perfect label for them.ChrisC1997 wrote:

It doesn't help the fact that both probably will take years of time regardless though

I'd much rather Sum take years to release a new album if it means it is going to be kick-assHugoDisasters wrote:It doesn't help the fact that both probably will take years of time regardless though

But it was the complete opposite with Chuck and DTLI. And if I recall correctly Deryck mentioned in some interview that he was used to work under pressure (possible liking it?) and yeah his favorite song is off Chuck as well.

Re: New Album?
I would love a new album. A more polished, thought-out Screaming Bloody Murder. There were so many small parts of songs that I wish were just fleshed out songs on their own. The intro to Skumfuk, for example. I loved pretty much everything about Screaming Bloody Murder. The music, the darkness, and Deryck's vocals especially. You can actually hear the pain and anger in his voice when he sang and it was believable.
I have enough music to keep me occupied until the next album and Screaming Bloody Murder will be able to hold me over for years to come. I still want to hear a follow-up though.

Not sure what interview that was, but I know Deryck does NOT work well under pressure because he said it on his website in one of the album's personal notesHugoDisasters wrote:And if I recall correctly Deryck mentioned in some interview that he was used to work under pressure (possible liking it?) and yeah his favorite song is off Chuck as well.

That's exactly how I feel about SBM, as well. Each time I listen to it, I find something new I love about it.Jeremy Kill wrote:I would love a new album. Re: New Album?
there's a bunch of people on this forum that don't even like the sums (anymore) . nothing new to be honest, though I still don't really understand the motivation of sticking around on such forums.HugoDisasters wrote:So you are on a discussion forum of a band that in your opinion makes shit music?I love Deryck wrote:Dude why are you here?Gregorovich wrote:musicHugoDisasters wrote:Really bad at what?Gregorovich wrote:Sometimes I want Sum 41 to release a new album, then I realise they're really bad.
