Analyzing Songs as Poetry

For English I have to pick a song and analyse it as a poem and answer 5 questions (of our choice) on it such as:
Is the title effective, why or why not?
What is the significance of the line _______________________
What is the tone/atmosphere/mood of the poem?
What is the theme of the poem?
What is the literal or figurative meaning?
Find two examples of imagery or figurative language in the poem.
But you get the point.

I need some ideas of songs to do. I was actually thinking of doing something from Underclass Hero. But any ideas/help with answering the questions to the songs would be greatly appreciated!

I'd suggest picking a song like speak of the devil, count your past blessings, pull the curtain or perhaps even dear father.

I'd recommend a Rise Against song such as Architects or Prayer of the Refugee. If you wanted to go with a Sum 41 song, I'd probably say Speak of the Devil.

I'm not looking for any particular band! I was just thinking of Underclass Hero in particular of the Sum albums.

Just looked at the lyrics for Architects, that would be a good one! Thanks!

Bob Dylan's A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall, there is a whole lot of shit to analyze, it's the best song ever written, in my honest opinion.

So basically, you want us to do your homework? I love music and I think you also do, so, if I were you and I'd get a homework like this, I'd be so happy to choose my favourite songs and analyze them...

Imo, choose your favourite songs, 'cause I guess you can write about them the most. If you can't answer 1 or 2 questions, maybe we can help, but at least the songs be chosen by you.

Is the title effective, why or why not? - It is extremely effective, because throughout the whole song, Dylan is pointing out that which is wrong in the world, and ''The Hard Rain That's Going To Fall'' is a beautiful metaphor explaining the consequences of human actions. At least that's what I get out of it.

Where the people are a many and their hands are all empty
Where the pellets of poison are flooding their waters - for example this line in this context, from my point of view, it means all the lies that people are told when listening to the radio or reading the newspapers, or watching television.
Where the home in the valley meets the damp dirty prison
Where the executioner's face is always well hidden

What is the tone/atmosphere/mood of the poem? - It is difficult to tell what kind of mood could this song be attached to, but I would say that the world ''Desperate'' describes it beautifully, it is the word that Dylan once used to describe the mood of this song, if I remember it correctly.

I would write more, but I'm going out know, maybe I'll finish it tomorrow, but I will have to study most of the day I guess.

yeah I think I'm going to go with a Rise Against song, not sure which one. Maybe Make It Stop, or Hero of War, they'd be incredibly easy to do.
