Actually, the GCY DVD was too. Or depends on how you look at it. Deryck/the band didn't like how the filming ended up, so they wanted to release it as a CD instead. So you can blame either the band, or the filming crew that fucked up the performance.
Also, the deluxe version of SBM was denied because the Sums didn't provide the material in time.

That, and also the strings stay in tune longer for the show because they aren't as tight.
