Re: Sum 41 Instrumentals
Exit Song is just amazing instrumental, so emotional. I went through and listened to all the slow melodic parts in the songs, all of which gave me chills, amazing musicianship and creativity

Re: Sum 41 Instrumentals
I can hear the "instrumentals" (which in these cases include backing vocals) by slightly unplugging my headphones/speakers from my laptop/ipod so that only some part of the connection is touching...and it ends up with the same result you have - A slightly tinny sound that sometimes misses out a guitar part or two and the main vocals...
Doesn't work very well with Jessica Kill - It misses out all the good parts :/

Yeah, I was able to do that with my old CD Walkman (lulz... walkman...), but I can't seem to do it with my iPod. It really opens up the "hidden" elements of the song. I think you can do this sort of effect on Audacity or something. I can't quite remember.PyroAMYac wrote:I can hear the "instrumentals" (which in these cases include backing vocals) by slightly unplugging my headphones/speakers from my laptop/ipod so that only some part of the connection is touching...and it ends up with the same result you have - A slightly tinny sound that sometimes misses out a guitar part or two and the main vocals...

Re: Sum 41 Instrumentals
If I remember well, these kind of software kinda filter the frequencies of the vocals, but I've always thought that they work better with bands other than Sum 41. Well, it might be just an impression, but I always feel like the Sums songs are more "complex" than a lot of other bands songs, and as Heather said you can really hear with Exit Song for example, the instrumentals are just outstanding with Sum 41.
But I still don't understand how you can achieve the same effect by unplugging the headphones cable a little bit, I remember it worked with my previous MP3 player, even when I didn't want it...

Re: Sum 41 Instrumentals
I miss my Walkman :/ ... It is quite cool to hear different aspects of the song that you wouldn't otherwise notice, but I generally use it for background music while i'm working so I don't get distracted lisening to the lyrics (and subsequently write them down accidently on whatever I'm doing )Jeremy Kill wrote:Yeah, I was able to do that with my old CD Walkman (lulz... walkman...), but I can't seem to do it with my iPod. Re: Sum 41 Instrumentals
I saw your instrumentals and covers before! I subbed. And no, I'm pretty sure the single won't be released tomorrow, sadly.
Believe me, it's alright.
