Sum 41 are mentioned on the front of the new Rocksound magazine, no idea when it's out though. I expect Kerrang will have their review of SBM in this weeks issue (if they haven't already reviewed it).

I've update the original post with a few of the ratings I've seen in this thread. I'll update it more when/if more reviews are posted in here. if anyoone knows of a review that has been posted in another thread, but not in here and hasn't been mentioned in the original post, let me know!

has the Rolling Stone Magazine review been posted yet?
You probably haven't paid much attention to Sum 41 since their 2001 bubblegum punk hit "Fat Lip." Keep doing that. On subsequent discs, frontman Deryck Whibley has aspired to depth outside his skill set. 2004's Chuck was inspired by war in the Congo; the band's newest seems touched by a lesser holocaust, Whibley's 2010 divorce from Avril Lavigne. "Take the pictures off the wall/Erase the thoughts, forget them all," he sings. Whibley cleans out his soul closet over operatic hard rock, rain-swept balladry and bad Green Day opera punk - often crammed into the same song. If he's trying to show breakups are arduous, it worked.

It seems like a lot of the reviews are bashing the fact that it's not Fat Lip/In Too Deep and that they ripped off Green Day which they didn't do this time. Did anyone writing these listen to the album or research the band?

Sum 41 - Screaming Bloody Murder
Whibley's warriors return to the fray...

Rating: 7
It’s weird to think of Sum 41 as a veteran band but hell, it’s almost exactly a decade since ‘All Killer, No Filler’ and Whibley’s warriors are still doing their thing. And while the Canadian four-piece may want to be seen as a grown-up rock ‘n’ roll band – as evidenced by the retro-styled, slightly underwhelming likes of ‘Baby You Don’t Want To Know’ and ‘Reason To Believe’ – they’re still at their best when unleashing some metallic pop-punk fury, as on the title track and ‘Skumfuk’. They’re no longer a phenomenon; instead, Sum 41 have continued to mature into a rather good band

been waiting for this review! fairly happy with it to be honest, they haven't ripped it to shreds for not being AKNF like other reviews seem to.

There is a positive corolation between the album rating and the amount of time actually TALKING ABOUT THE F*CKING ALBUM.

The Rolling Stone review is one of the most infuriating reviews I've read purely because no good attempt to review the album has been made.

Rolling Stone is quite possibly the worst place you can look for album reviews.

I've always thought there is no more useless a profession than a music critic. Trying to create objectivity over some as subjective as music is absolutely.... ridiculous.

Rolling Stone fails, the song they're suggesting to listen to in the review isn't even Sum 41.. It's some shitty cover of Screaming Bloody Murder with an italian accent
