fuck me
so i just got internet at my house, my fuckhead router wont pick up my Ethernet cord to connect to xbox live. it did it before but i remembered i had the same problem i cant remember how to fix it, getting another cord isn't an option at this very moment. ideas?

Maybe your xbox can't get an IP. Check in your router if there's something called DHCP and if it's activated, maybe it's because of that

it has NO dns information, i believe this a problem it also has no gate-way settings.

First thing to do is to make sure that you're connected to the router, wirelessly or wired then check to see if DHCP is enabled.

If you cant enable DHCP (The best way)
You need to find the IP range that your router is using And assign an IP within that range in your XBox.
Will also need subnet mask and possibly DNS servers.
Why cant you change router settings?!

anyway this is fixed, just took the mac address and put it in there.

On your computer, you should open the "Run" box by "Windows Key" + "R" then type "cmd", this should open up a windows of blackness, then type in "ipconfig", there should be a list of numbers and then look at the one called "Default Gateway", type that number in your internet browser to access your router settings, Username & Password is usually on the box itself. Should like something like "192.168.2.1".
