Ehhh he has been saying the same thing for the past couple of months. Now he is just giving a number. I want an actual song to come out. Then I'll be happy!

Naa, it won't be a UH2. Or a DTLI2 or a Chuck2 or a Does this look like chuck or someting like that. He speaks from musically a diffirent style.. And lyrics.. Maybe he's making classic music?
Even if he was making classic music, I bet it would sound awesome !!!
I was a little afraid in the beginning, but, let's say it clearly, this is Deryck, and he'll always be awesome !!!!!!!!

well lets hope they rip some shitters and it blows us all away
that song that was apparently "lyrically too much" didnt sound like itd be an underclass hero 2, so..hopefully no. I'm hoping they continue the trend of a new, semi-different sound in every record.

Hell, I'm afraid now too, cuz back in 2007 he said UH would be a mix between all of their albums, that it'll be more like AKNF back-to-roots albums but it will have the heavy elements from DTLI and Chuck and all. Remember it how Deryck regarded UH as a mixture of all of their previous stuff and how it has a little bit from every album?
Well, thats what I'm afraid of. On the other hand, now maybe he said that this will be more like DTLI and Chuck cuz he saw how many fans were disappointed with UH and maybe he even came on TNS and saw all of us saying that we want a Chuck/DTLI-like album hahaha.

Plus, he's saying this new album goes into some new direction and all.. so that could be cool too. I wonder how else could Sum 41 sound. What if its weird electronic rock shit? XD

Okay, as much as Deryck talks about this album like it's going to be Underclass Hero 2, I'm trying to stay positive in that it's going to be different.

As the record shows, every Sum 41 CD is different. Underclass Hero was more happy and more pop-punk like All Killer, but in no way was it really similar to it. Well... except for the Underclass Hero/Fat Lip comparison. It's uncanny.

I'm willing to throw my chips down and say this album will be different than Underclass Hero. Better? Hopefully. I'm hoping Deryck ditches the religious references this time around because it was put to good use in virtually every song on Underclass Hero.

I'm really glad he is continuing to push himself creatively
and 16 songs is awesome. I guess some will end up b-sides and such, but this is great news

I think Deryck got all the political songs and UH shit out of his mind. I think this Album WILL be different, but what I'm afraid of is that Deryck is trying to hard to NOT make it like UH, which will make it sound pretty bad, but I guess we'll wait and see. I think I would have actually liked it better if they released an EP, then we get a sample of what their next album will be like, and I'm sure people would post their opinion on the internet where The Sums could see them.

I'd LOL if next update is a video and it's just Deryck going, "Hey guys, got 17 songs now. New directions. I'm excited. La8ter."

He said that the music was different. There's a huge difference between "different" and "a mix of all our previous albums"...

Well, remember the first time he talked about the EP?
He said it will be just a pretty heavy EP...like Chuck or so, now he says its going into a different direction, which on one hand, might be not heavy as DTLI/Chuck songs, but on the other hand... well, its different, its excited, and like Jeremy said, yeah, all Sum 41 albums are different, and I'm sure this will also take us into a new direction. Stay positive

What we really need right now is a sample. Either a short preview, a part of a song, a b-side, whatever! That way we could know what to expect. I'm not getting my hopes up, so if it's amazing, I'll be happier and surprised. Let's just try and hope it won't turn out to be like Always or the new version of Makes No Difference.

hopefully he didnt lose the whole idea of "a mix of DTLI and Chuck", that was probably the most uplifting thing he has said since beginning to work on this new album

I think we should stay positive and just think "HEY! It's a Sum 41 album" It's gonna be epic to have a new record, I know I'm gonna like it and buy it even if it's techno or some crazy shit.

In all honesty, I wouldn't either.

It'd be interesting if the music kind of differs as well for some songs. Like if the slower songs had an indie feel rather than some boring rock ballad. Not saying all rock ballads are boring, but you know.
