upload it to a image-hosting site such as...
http://www.photobucket.com
http://www.tinypic.com
etc
and then get the link that allows you to directly view it and paste it in the signature part of your profile with the image codes on it
for example...

on photobucket i think you have to have an account, but i may be wrong. its an easy, clean way to upload. just browse your computer's files, find the file, and upload. :)
tinypic is the same job, just you don't need to sign up for an account.
i'd pick photobucket if i was you, it allows you to sort out all your files and stuff when tinypic is just a random upload i think.

hmm...
i'm not much of a expert on this stuff, but it could be something to do with the host site?

I used tinypic. I clicked img on the top of the text box and pasted the url of the pic like it said.
