The Days That Make Us (New Song)

Post by Jeremy Kill »

Well, the full title of it is "The Days That Make Us (August Anthem pt.2)". I really liked that ambient kind of feel in the new Skumfuk, so I tried my hand at something similar with this song, wanting the intro to allude to the original August Anthem riff to give it that feeling of continuity.

I actually have lyrics written for this song. It didn't take me long to write at all, but I'm not sure if I'll post them yet. I kind of just wrote stuff down. I didn't take into account vocal melody or any sort of rhyme scheme.

Anyway, hope you enjoy.

You should really try to get some kind of bass sound in there aswell. Some guitar amps can emulate bass sounds very well, marshall amps for example. Otherwise great song.

Great song man! It really had Skumfuk intro vibe. You should totally post lyrics too, interested to hear them, since the song is kinda dark!

Haha you really notice there has very much of Sum 41 in it, just through your voice.
Sounds great!

Very sick of everyone/skumfuk-ish :2cool4u:

i have a feeling that you didn't listen to it.

"why Dylan, what do you mean? of course i listened to it"

FALSE. there are no vocals so, no, i believe you didn't actually listen to it.

i did, and i have to say that it like it. though instrumentals like this bore me because its just power chords and obviously there will be a vocal melody over top that tells a story. but as for a basic song structure, it sounds like it would be fun to play and overall, very neat little base for a full song.

Okay, here are the re-worked lyrics. I'm pretty sure none of it goes with the music except for maybe the chorus. The last chorus line is supposed to go with that slow part at the end. Also, be warned that it's probably pretty emo and doesn't really possess a positive outlook, but I must admit it felt damn good to write these words down... or "type them up," rather. My first lyrics I've ever written! History is being made here tonight!

Spoiler: show
Those drunken words were sober thoughts
I didn’t even catch your name
The first night that we met
We built up this false belief
To serve ideas so inebriated
That they would crumble beneath our feet

These are the days that make us
These are the days that change me
You were the one that made me
So damn jaded
There’s still one thing left to say
Before I burn this bridge for good
It gets colder than you know

Those days were numbered from the start
Not even the best nights of my life
I’ll leave them in the past
You built it up and let it fall
From rock bottom I will climb
Return to who I used to be

These are the days that make us
These are the days that change me
You were the one that made me
So damn jaded
There’s still one thing left to say
Before I burn this bridge for good
It gets colder than you know

These days don’t last forever
You can’t change all that’s said and done
We won’t repair these ruins
A monument to days already gone

These are the days that make us
These are the days that change me
You were the one that made me
So damn jaded
There’s still one thing left to say
Before I burn this bridge for good
It gets colder than you know

I did listen to it, as an asian and a fan of Jeremy Kill.
That must be me writing when i was tired, i meant it as if you sung through your instrument you would sing something like the lyrics of skumfuk. Don't think what i was thinking at that time really gone through my head really well :hehe:
