Which guitar to choose ?

Post by 182sins »

Hi guys,

So summer is coming and I need a new guitar.
I don't have much money since I'm still student, and I want an epiphone LP. I've found 2 epiphones which are slightly different, but at the same price, and I really don't know which one is the best, so if anyone could help me that would be awesome !
Here are the candidates:
http://www.thomann.de/gb/epiphone_lp_st ... top_hb.htm
or
http://www.thomann.de/gb/epiphone_lp_19 ... op_hcs.htm

I must say the first one looks pretty good to me, I just can't find the damn differences between them !

To me they look like the same guitar with different finishes. I'm not sure what the difference is between the two. I can't seem to find where the specs are. Anyway, I'd go with the first one by finish alone.

yeah, if the specs or different its a totally different ball game. but by the finish, I agree with Jeremy, first.

Yep that's what I thought, the first one really caught my eyes. I suppose they can't be that different...
Anyway thanks for the answers !

best to buy it in store. that way you know exactly what it sounds like/ feels like and how it compares to the other guitars.

Almost all Epiphone LP's are good or excellent for their price. The differences between different models with almost the same price are usually cosmetic.

Yeah I'll definitely go with the first. I read pretty good reviews on that one, so I don't think I'll regret it.
I wish I could try them both, unfortunately I don't know any store that's big enough to have them both where I live...
Thank you guys !

As a gibson owner,i would not recomend to buy epiphone,BUT these epiphones are very different!some sound normal and some REALLY AWEFULL(even same factory, same day of production). So take your time to test at least 5 guitars before you buy one :)
good luck!
