Good rig for Sum 41 & ADTR stuff?

Post by HugoDisasters »

How about an IBanez GRG170DX (HSH coils) with a Fender Mustang II amp?
Just wanted to have a second opinion ^^

I got one pick from Tom, so I can tell you without a doubt what he is using : dunlop 0.73mm (they're yellow), I think it's the same for Deryck
Oh and I don't like Ibanez guitars, so I can't really tell ya

Well the suck penis part is done, that '73 deluxe tele seems nice but why not the GRG170DX?

It's Dunlop Tortex.

The guitar: I hate Superstrats, but... it's just my opinion: buy a Les Paul or SG.
The Mustang II is not great, but OK. You'll need a good distortion pedal, eg. an Ibanez TubeScreamer, or a Marsahll Guv'nor II.
Got a no-string guitar, got a SUNN Beta head, I'm a rock and roll star,
I ain't no musician, some things are stranger than fishin'!

Why does everybody wants to sound like that one band (or 2 bands)? I mean, create your own sound. Nothing cooler to experiment with some nice pedals at a guitar shop. Buy some, go home, mess some more and tada.. great sound is found..

NO offense dude, but Ibanez sucks along with fender amps.. I have a PRS and that can do any sound.
