Stickers On A Guitar?

Post by THRILLHOUSE »

Would it be a good idea? I like how Derycks old guitar looked and many other musicians that put stickers on their guitars. What would happen if I put them on.. would they wreck my guitar if I tried to take them off?

I did that on my Squier Strat... The sticker are now removed, it wasn't easy but it worked. I think it depenst on the glue, too. So theoretically it shuldn't be a problem. Maybe if your guitar has nitro finish...

i think u should have stickers, cause they can look pretty cool, and idt it should be a problem taking off the stickers, just don't use the 1's w/super sticky glue
Maybe nothin else will ever be so clear, or maybe that's only my fear. If just for one day I wish I could disappear. Just take me far from here.

Deryck's Telecaster HH looked pretty cool with stickers, but his red SG looked like crap with them. I guess it depends on what kinds of stickers you slap on your guitar. In my opinion, if you put on anything that has adhesive on your guitar it just looks ridiculous. Treat it like a canvas and you should be good!

His tele did look sick, I didn't think the sg looked too bad. but I also think it depends on the stickers. I've seen some guitars with stickers put on them, some look really cool and others look atrocious.

I have a 72 deluxe (well, not the fender, the squier), and I put some red X's on it. I don't think it can damage the body, and I don't really know for the pickguard. I have put some stickers on another guitar, and when I took them off, the stickers were gone, but actually you could tell they had been there.
Really, I'd advise you to do it anyway, my 72 with red X's make me feel I hold Deryck's guitar, and it just looks amazing !

I wouldn't worry about getting them off. There are efficient ways to do it perfectly.

Stickers on a guitar can be very cool, but also very ugly. Ive got a white LesPaul with one black X and a single black line taped on it. All my other guitars are non-stickered/taped. I really recommend using just tape instead of stickers, so you can put anything you want on there and it's easy to remove if you don't like it.

If I'd use stickers I would only pick perfect stickers, like from bands that I like or skateboardingbrands like Volcom. Stickes on a guitar give it a whole other attitude, make sure you get the right ones and show it to us when you're done:D!

If you want to stick tape stripes (like the Xs...) on it, it is definitely safe.

A good example of what NOT to do. I got it from Google. Hopefully it isn't anyone's guitar on this website! If it is, I'm slightly disappointed and my life as a whole will be mostly unaffected.
